Shipping prices from Saudi Arabia to Algeria at Gulf International Shipping begin at SAR 92 per parcel (5 kg maximum), SAR 138 per carton (10 kg maximum), SAR 276 per cubic metre in a shared container, SAR 1,100 for a complete bedroom, SAR 4,140 for a whole household by groupage, then SAR 5,520 for a private 20 ft box and SAR 7,360 for a 40 ft one. These are port-to-port figures, Jeddah Islamic Port to an Algerian port, by sea through the Suez Canal, with door-to-door arrival in 5–7 weeks for a private container and 6–8 weeks for groupage. Air freight and cars are priced per shipment.
How did we arrive at these figures? We collected what carriers shipping to Algeria publish from Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, Makkah, Madinah and Taif, took the lowest published starting price for each item, and set ours about 8% below it. We left out outliers that contradict the same company’s other pages, such as a bedroom priced below a sofa. The result is a table you can budget from, with an explanation of everything that pushes the price up or down, and of what the freight charge leaves out entirely.
In short
- Parcels: SAR 92 for up to 5 kg, SAR 138 for a 10 kg carton, a 5–20 kg parcel from SAR 202
- Furniture: a bedroom from SAR 1,100, a living room from SAR 870, a sofa from SAR 595
- Containers: shared space from SAR 276 per m³, a 20 ft container from SAR 5,520, a 40 ft from SAR 7,360
- Tipping point: once your goods approach 20 cubic metres, a 20 ft container beats groupage
- Not in the freight: duty plus 19% VAT on anything new is settled with Algerian customs
- On request: air freight per kilo, a car in a closed container, clearance and insurance
Approximate shipping prices from Saudi Arabia to Algeria
Note: figures cover Jeddah port to the Algerian port of arrival. Expect about 5–7 weeks from your door to theirs for a private box, 6–8 weeks for groupage and 3–7 days for air. Inland haulage is added if you load outside Jeddah, and delivery is added for wilayas far from the port.
Prices for parcels and cartons to Algeria
These are the most common shipments: cartons of clothes for family, gifts for occasions, a returning student’s things and official papers. They all travel in the next shared container, priced on weight or volume, whichever is greater.
If you have more than five cartons, ask for a per-cubic-metre price, which is usually cheaper than pricing each carton alone. And do not send urgent documents by sea: a paper you need within two weeks belongs on a plane.
Furniture prices to Algeria, piece by piece
Maybe it is a few chosen pieces and not the whole home, such as a bedroom for a married son or a living-room set for the family house, these are the groupage starting prices per piece, including dismantling and sea packing:
Notice that a complete bedroom costs less than its pieces priced one by one, because once dismantled we treat it as one block of space in the container. Packing and protection for wood and marble are covered on furniture moving from Saudi Arabia to Algeria.
Prices for appliances and sports equipment
New appliances in their original boxes pay Algerian customs duty and 19% VAT, while used ones on a change-of-residence inventory pay nothing up to the ceiling. So before buying a new fridge to ship, compare its price, its freight and the tax on it with the price of the same model in Algeria.
Container prices: groupage, 20 ft or 40 ft?
With groupage you pay SAR 276 and up for each cubic metre your goods occupy, with a minimum charge. With a private container you pay a fixed price for the whole box: SAR 5,520 for a 20 ft (about 33 m³) and SAR 7,360 for a 40 ft (about 67 m³). Divide 5,520 by 276 and the tipping point is roughly 20 cubic metres: below it groupage is cheaper; above it your own container is cheaper, faster, and your goods are handled less.

Prices for commercial goods and equipment to Algeria
Commercial goods need a commercial invoice, a packing list and the importer’s details in Algeria, and may get reduced duty if they come with an Arab certificate of origin. Some goods also carry an additional safeguard levy in Algeria, so send us a description before you buy and we will tell you what to check.
Worked examples: what will your shipment really cost?
These examples use the starting prices in the table so you know the size of the bill before you contact us. Final figures move with the actual volume, your loading city and your wilaya.
In the second example, if the packed volume grows to around 20 cubic metres, we suggest the 20 ft container instead, because the difference becomes small and arrival is faster. If you live outside Jeddah, the road to the port is added; it costs less the smaller the shipment, because we combine one city’s shipments in a single truck.
What pushes the price of shipping to Algeria up or down?
- Volume before weight: furniture is normally priced per cubic metre, small parcels on weight or volume, whichever is greater.
- Loading city: Jeddah, Makkah and Taif are close to the port; Riyadh is about 950 km away, Tabuk about 1,000 km and Dammam about 1,300–1,400 km.
- Arrival port and wilaya: landing at the port nearest your address cuts delivery, and the south, such as Ghardaïa, Ouargla and Adrar, costs more.
- Type of packing: wooden crates for glass, marble and ornaments add cost but protect what cannot be replaced.
- Season: summer, when families head home, raises demand for containers; booking early protects you from waiting.
- Insurance: optional and priced on the declared value.

We measure and weigh the shipment at the warehouse before sailing and send you the actual volume. If it comes in under the survey estimate you pay the lower figure; if it comes in over, we tell you before loading so you can decide whether to ship the extra or hold it back.
What the freight price does not include
The freight price covers carriage, packing and handling; it does not include charges levied by the state. Algeria applies 19% VAT to new items, customs duty according to each item’s tariff line, and a safeguard levy on certain goods. These are paid to Algerian customs. A returnee with a change-of-residence certificate brings used belongings and an eligible car in exempt up to DZD 10 million; details are on Algeria change of residence household goods. Do not believe anyone who says their price covers all Algerian customs charges: customs assesses them on arrival.
Why shipping to Algeria costs more than to some Mediterranean countries
You may notice that container freight to Algeria is higher than to some other Mediterranean countries. The reason is that shipping lines do not link Jeddah directly with the Algerian ports, so the box goes through a transfer port and then a feeder vessel, each move carrying its own charges, and it waits at the transfer port for the next sailing. A shipping company cannot change that, but we can choose the line and port that suit your wilaya best, and consolidate shipments to reduce your share of the cost.
Air freight prices to Algeria
Air freight leaves Jeddah on direct flights to Algiers according to the flight schedule, with Riyadh, Madinah and Dammam routing via Jeddah, and reaches the door in 3–7 days. The bill follows the higher of the actual and volumetric weight, and the volumetric figure is normally found by multiplying length, width and height in centimetres and dividing the result by 6,000. No dependable per-kilo rate is published for Algeria, so share the weight and measurements and we will quote it. Air is worth it for documents, permitted medicines and small devices, not for furniture.
The cost of shipping a car to Algeria
We do not publish a fixed price for a car to Algeria, because we ship cars inside a closed container and the cost varies with the car’s size, whether belongings share the container, and the Algerian port. More important than the price is whether the car is accepted at all: for a returnee with a change-of-residence certificate it must be new or under 5 years old, petrol, electric or hybrid up to 1,800 cc, and diesel cars are outside the exemption. Details are on car shipping from Saudi Arabia to Algeria.
How to get an accurate price in one message
- Your loading city and district in the Kingdom.
- Your wilaya and town in Algeria.
- Room photos or a written list of furniture and appliances, plus an approximate carton count.
- Whether you hold a change-of-residence certificate, and when it was issued.
- Whether you need packing, dismantling, reassembly, or storage before sailing.
- When you want the shipment to arrive.
With that, we reply on WhatsApp 0568829975 with the best option, the starting price and the expected sailing, then confirm the price after a survey or measurement at the warehouse.
How to spot an unrealistic quote
When comparing carriers to Algeria, do not compare the figure alone. Ask each one: is the price door to door or port to port? Does it include packing and the haul to Jeddah? What is the realistic time to the address? Which port does the container load at and which Algerian port does it reach? A quote promising ten days, overland shipping, or that they will pay your Algerian customs is usually a quote that changes once your goods are in their hands.
