Our shipping prices from Saudi Arabia to Turkey at Gulf International Shipping begin at SAR 18 to send a one-kilo parcel and SAR 110 for any parcel of 5 kg or less; flying costs SAR 14 a kilo to Istanbul, shared container space SAR 410 a cubic metre, a bedroom SAR 920, an entire household of roughly a tonne SAR 2,760, a twenty-foot container SAR 4,140, a forty-foot one SAR 6,440, and an eligible car SAR 5,060. These are the lowest starting figures nationwide and usually apply to Jeddah, Makkah and Taif, which sit close to Jeddah Islamic Port where every one of our Turkey containers is loaded. Prices then rise for Madinah, then for Riyadh and Tabuk, and are highest for Dammam and the Eastern Province, whose goods travel about 1,400 km by road before reaching the quay.
Every price on this page was set the same way: we reviewed what shipping firms publish for Turkey in each Saudi city, took the lowest figure for each item and placed ours below it. When no firm in a city lists a price for something, we borrowed the figure from the closest city that does, rather than inventing one. The result is a table for every city below, with worked examples that let you estimate your shipment before you call.

Approximate shipping prices from Saudi Arabia to Turkey
This table brings together the lowest starting prices in the Kingdom for the shipments most often sent to Turkey. Each figure covers collection, packing, transport to Jeddah port and the sea or air freight; it excludes anything Turkish customs charge:
Note: a full container from Jeddah, Makkah or Taif reaches Mersin in 14–20 days and Istanbul in 18–28 days; add a day from Madinah, 2–3 days from Riyadh and Tabuk and 3–4 days from Dammam, plus 5–7 days for a shared container. Flown cargo reaches Istanbul addresses in 3–5 working days and other Turkish cities in 4–6.
Why does the price to Turkey change from one Saudi city to another?
Every container Gulf International Shipping sends to Turkey sails from Jeddah Islamic Port, because a weekly direct service from there reaches Mersin in about 5 days and İskenderun in about 8. So what separates one city’s price from another is not the sea but the road from your city to Jeddah: each extra kilometre means fuel, driver time and a longer journey. Our rule is fixed: for any given item, a town nearer Jeddah never pays more than one further off.
Quick city comparison for the most requested items
Figures are in Saudi riyals and are all starting prices. A bedroom starts at SAR 1,100 in Riyadh but SAR 3,220 in Dammam because each city’s firms publish different rates; we price below the lowest published figure in that same city and then apply the distance-to-port rule. Dammam’s full-container prices come from Riyadh’s, since no Eastern Province firm publishes them.
Shipping prices from Jeddah to Turkey
Jeddah is the port city, with no long road leg before loading, so its prices are the lowest. King Abdulaziz Airport has many nonstop flights to Istanbul as scheduled, about 3h45 in the air. Details on shipping from Jeddah to Turkey.
Shipping prices from Makkah to Turkey
Makkah is about 80 km from the port, so its prices track Jeddah’s. Makkah firms publish much higher figures than firms in farther cities, so we lowered each item to the cheaper rate of a farther city, ensuring nobody in Makkah pays more than someone in Dammam for the same piece. Air freight from Makkah goes via Jeddah airport. Details on shipping from Makkah to Turkey.
Shipping prices from Taif to Turkey
Taif is roughly 170 km from Jeddah port, and its loads usually reach the quay the same day. Taif also has an air advantage: nonstop flights to Istanbul as scheduled, or via nearby Jeddah airport. Details on shipping from Taif to Turkey.
Shipping prices from Madinah to Turkey
From Madinah, Yanbu, AlUla and Badr, goods travel roughly 420 km to Jeddah, adding one day to Jeddah’s timeline. Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz Airport has nonstop flights to Istanbul as scheduled, about 3h50 in the air, which makes air freight from Madinah a practical choice for urgent parcels. Details on shipping from Madinah to Turkey.
Shipping prices from Riyadh to Turkey
Riyadh is about 950 km from Jeddah port, adding 2–3 days to the journey. Riyadh also has per-kilo rates that other cities do not publish, useful for anyone sending assorted personal items. Air freight from King Khalid Airport goes to Sabiha Gökçen in Istanbul on nonstop flights as scheduled, about 4 hours. Details on shipping from Riyadh to Turkey.
Shipping prices from Tabuk to Turkey
Tabuk is roughly 1,000 km from Jeddah port, close to Riyadh’s distance, so we do not cap it against Riyadh but price it from its own published rates. There is no nonstop flight from Tabuk to Istanbul; air freight goes via Riyadh or Jeddah and needs an extra day. Details on shipping from Tabuk to Turkey.
Eastern Province rates: Dammam, Khobar and Al-Ahsa to Turkey
Dammam is the farthest city from Jeddah port at about 1,400 km. We do not load Turkey containers at Dammam port; we truck them to Jeddah to catch the direct service, which is why Eastern Province prices are the highest in the Kingdom. King Fahd International Airport has a daily nonstop flight to Istanbul as scheduled. Details on shipping from Dammam to Turkey.
Parcel and carton prices to Turkey by weight
Parcels are what gets sent to Turkey most: gifts for family, clothes for students, perfume and books. These are the lowest starting prices in the Kingdom by weight and type:
Three things change the parcel maths in Turkey: Turkey caps duty-paid post and courier parcels at 30 kg gross for personal goods only, online purchases go through the normal import regime, and mobile phones are never accepted by post or courier. So carry your phone on the plane. More on cartons and parcels shipping to Turkey.
Furniture shipping prices to Turkey: a room, a flat, a villa
Furniture is charged on the space it fills, since a sofa occupies far more of a container than its weight suggests. So we start by surveying your items or their photos, measure the volume in cubic metres, and suggest the most economical method. These are the lowest starting prices in the Kingdom:
The price includes dismantling, sea-grade packing, numbering and transport to the port. What happens at Turkish customs depends on the owner: returning Turks with two years abroad bring used furniture in free of duty, foreign residents must show a valid permit to stay, a tax number from Turkey and a notarised lease of one year or longer, and anything new pays duty plus 20% VAT. Conditions are confirmed before shipping; see Turkey used household goods customs and furniture moving from Saudi Arabia to Turkey.
Shared or full container: when does the full box save money?
Shared space (LCL) bills just the metres your load takes up, from SAR 410 each, but the box waits in Jeddah until it is full, adding 5–7 days. In a full container (FCL) you pay a flat price whatever is inside, and the box is sealed at your home or warehouse and opened by nobody before the Turkish port.

The maths is simple: a twenty-foot box from SAR 4,140 costs about the same as 10 shared cubic metres (10 × 410 = 4,100). Once your goods exceed roughly 10 metres, the full container is both cheaper and faster. A forty-foot box, from SAR 6,440, matches roughly 16 shared metres yet holds more than twice a twenty-footer, so it is the natural choice for villas and large homes.
Air freight to Turkey: the per-kilo rate and departure airports
Air freight to Turkey with Gulf International Shipping starts at SAR 14 per kilo, a small parcel up to 5 kg at SAR 110–138 depending on the city, and documents at SAR 46. Goods reach Istanbul within 3–5 working days and Ankara, İzmir, Antalya, Trabzon and Bursa within 4–6 working days. These are the airports we ship from:
Airlines charge on whichever is higher, the scale weight or the volumetric weight, which means a bulky but light box pays for its dimensions. Air therefore suits small, relatively heavy and urgent items, while furniture and bulky loads are far cheaper by sea. Lithium batteries come out of devices before air shipment. Car shipping prices from Saudi Arabia to Turkey
A sedan to Turkey costs SAR 5,060 and up from anywhere in the Kingdom, travelling sealed in a container out of Jeddah. But the price means nothing until eligibility is checked: Turkey lets a citizen back from two or more years abroad import a car of up to three model years, provided it was in their name six months before they last entered, while foreign residents get only a temporary import tied to their permit. A returnee’s car is free of customs duty but pays ÖTV by engine and value, then VAT. Details on car shipping from Saudi Arabia to Turkey.
What does the shipping price to Turkey include, and what does it not?
The last line hurts most: a container that lands before the tax number, residence permit or relocation certificate is ready stays at the port and runs up daily charges. That is why we ask for your papers before sailing, not after.
Does the price change with the Turkish city?
Yes. Starting prices assume delivery in cities near the arrival ports, such as Mersin, Adana, Istanbul and Bursa. Ankara is about 500 km from Mersin port, Antalya about 480 km, and Trabzon about 1,050 km by road from Istanbul, so inland trucking in Turkey is added. We write that difference in riyals into your quote before you book, so it does not surprise you on arrival.
How is shipping to Turkey priced? Worked examples

Your bill comes from furniture volume in cubic metres, actual or volumetric weight for parcels and air, the loading city, the container type, the Turkish port, the distance from there to your address, and extras such as wooden crates and insurance. Some realistic examples at starting prices:
- A student in Jeddah sending 3 cartons of 15 kg each: 3 × 276 = about SAR 828 by sea.
- A Madinah family sending a bedroom, a fridge and 30 kg of clothes: 920 + 735 + 735 = SAR 2,390 to start.
- A Riyadh family with 8 cubic metres: 8 × 410 = SAR 3,280 shared, less than a 20 ft container (SAR 4,140).
- A Tabuk family with 14 cubic metres: a 20 ft container from SAR 4,600 beats 14 × 410 = SAR 5,740 shared.
- A Dammam trader flying 25 kg of samples: 25 × 14 = SAR 350 to start, if volumetric weight does not exceed actual weight.
Ways to cut the cost of shipping to Turkey
- Shared container under about 10 cubic metres, from SAR 410 per metre.
- Full container above that, from SAR 4,140 for a twenty-footer.
- Load as close to Jeddah as you can: if relatives in the Hejaz can receive your goods, Jeddah, Makkah and Taif prices are the lowest.
- Receive at Mersin if you live in southern or central Turkey, as the sailing is shorter.
- Leave cheap, heavy pieces behind, since buying them in Turkey costs less than shipping.
- Avoid rushing: booking a month ahead gets you the next sailing at no extra cost.
Warning signs in Turkey shipping price adverts
- A price with no unit: “bedroom 500” without saying riyals or what is included.
- A big advertised discount with no original price written down.
- A land route to Turkey through Jordan and Syria sold as routine, when the load is transferred between trucks at the Syrian border, which is why we rely on sea and air for Turkey.
- A promise to sail from Dammam port to Istanbul in a few days with no service or date named.
- One flat price for shipping “any car” to Turkey without asking your nationality or model year.
- Contradictory transit times on the same page, such as air in 24 hours and then in 7 days.
