If you need a shipping company from Riyadh to Syria, Gulf International Shipping collects furniture, cartons, commercial goods and eligible cars from any district of the capital, heads north via Qassim and Al-Jouf to leave the Kingdom at Al-Haditha, runs through Jordan on transit papers as far as Jaber, and at Nassib hands the load to our Syrian partner’s truck for Damascus, Homs, Hama and Aleppo. Allow about seven to ten working days for Damascus and two or three more for Aleppo or the coast. From Riyadh we charge from SAR 165 for a box of up to 25 kg, SAR 138 for a large suitcase, SAR 2,575 for a full bedroom set, SAR 3,680 for a one- or two-room flat and SAR 3,220 for a sedan that qualifies.
Riyadh is the largest collection point for Syria-bound cargo from central Saudi Arabia. Families in Al-Kharj, Diriyah and Al-Muzahmiyah send their goods here, and the trucks leave on the same road that runs through Qassim, so we also collect in Buraydah and Unaizah on the way north. This page starts with what Riyadh customers ask first, the prices, then walks through the route stage by stage, how many days each Syrian governorate takes, how district pickups work, and what applies to cartons, commercial goods, cars and air freight from King Khalid airport.

Shipping prices from Riyadh to Syria
Riyadh prices are a little higher than those from Tabuk and Madinah because the road to Syria is about a thousand kilometres longer, but they sit clearly below the rates advertised by offices around the market. The first table sums up the most requested shipments, and the detailed table after it gives the starting price for every item.
Note: road transit from Riyadh to Damascus takes 7–10 working days give or take queues at the two border posts and the handover; shared loads take 3–5 days longer, while flying cuts the whole trip to 3–5 days. At Gulf International Shipping the first number of each range is our starting rate.
What pushes the price up or down?
The biggest factor is the type of service. If your goods wait until the truck fills with other families’ loads from Riyadh and Qassim, you share the cost and pay less; if you need a truck of your own on a fixed date, the price goes up. The second factor is size: furniture is priced by cubic metre, cartons and parcels by weight, and for light but bulky loads we compare actual and volumetric weight. Then comes the Syrian governorate: delivery to Damascus and Daraa costs less than Aleppo or Latakia, and Hasakah and Qamishli are the most expensive. The transfer work at Nassib is part of the calculation too, and it is included in our price.
A Riyadh example: a family in Al-Narjis sends a complete bedroom, a fridge and 10 medium cartons to Damascus. The calculation starts from SAR 2,575 for the bedroom, SAR 920 for the fridge and roughly SAR 1,840 for the ten cartons at SAR 184 each up to 30 kg, about SAR 5,335 before insurance. If the volume is larger than that, furniture moving from Saudi Arabia to Syria at the small-apartment rate, from SAR 3,680, may work out cheaper than pricing by the piece.
The road from Riyadh to Damascus: Qassim to Al-Haditha, then Jordan and Nassib
Our truck leaves Riyadh on the Qassim road and continues north through Al-Jouf to Qurayyat before reaching the Al-Haditha border post. This is the crossing that serves Riyadh, Eastern Province and Qassim cargo heading to Jordan and beyond, and it faces Jordan’s Al-Omari post. Before arrival we book the truck a Fasah appointment and issue the export declaration, which keeps waiting time at the border down.

Why swap trucks at Nassib?
Because non-Syrian trucks, Saudi ones included, are not currently allowed to drive into Syria with cargo for delivery inside the country, so goods are moved between trucks inside the customs yard at the crossing. You may see adverts promising that “the same truck reaches your door in Damascus”; that is not possible today. What we do instead is keep a Syrian partner ready at Nassib, so the load moves straight across without sitting in the yard, and our representative checks pieces and cartons against the list before the second loading.
Because this step means your belongings are lifted and set down twice, we pack Syria shipments with more layers than usual and use wooden crates for glass and large screens. The Nassib crossing explained page follows a truck through it hour by hour.
How long does shipping from Riyadh to Syria take?
From Riyadh to Damascus it is usually 7–10 working days. This rough breakdown shows where those days go, so you know which stage your shipment is at when we update you:
- Day one: pickup, packing and loading in Riyadh, and the export declaration.
- Days two and three: the drive north to Qurayyat and the Al-Haditha crossing in the Fasah slot.
- Around day four: transit across Jordan to Jaber.
- One to three days: waiting at Jaber and Nassib, clearance and the transfer; this is the part that varies with traffic and expansion works.
- Final day: delivery in Damascus or Daraa, then the other governorates.
Jaber and Nassib never shut, but peak-hour truck queues and yard upgrade works can add a day or more. Consolidated loads add 3–5 days because we wait for the truck to fill. If your travel date or the date you get the keys in Syria is fixed, tell us at the start so we choose the right truck for you.
Pickup from Riyadh districts and nearby towns
Our crews cover the whole city, from the north, such as Al-Narjis, Al-Yasmin, Al-Malqa, Al-Arid and Al-Qirawan; the centre, such as Olaya, Al-Sulaimaniyah, Al-Malaz and Al-Murabba; the east, such as Al-Rawdah, Al-Sulay, Al-Naseem and Al-Rayyan; and the south and west, such as Al-Shifa, Al-Aziziyah, Al-Suwaidi, Laban and Dhahrat Laban. We also collect from Al-Kharj, Diriyah and Al-Muzahmiyah, and from Buraydah and Unaizah in Qassim, which lie on the truck’s road north.
Riyadh has a few practical details to sort out with us before pickup day: residential compounds usually need advance permission from security for the truck to enter, buildings with small lifts mean more dismantling, and the newer northern districts have wide streets where a large truck can park outside the house. In summer we prefer to load in the morning, so neither the wrapped furniture nor the crew are out in the midday heat.

Moving household furniture from Riyadh to Syria
Most Riyadh shipments to Syria are the furniture of families going home. We dismantle, wrap in five layers, number every piece and prepare with you the contents list needed for the returnee exemption. It applies once to the used furniture of a Syrian with at least half a year spent abroad, backed by an inventory that the Syrian embassy in Riyadh has stamped, and capped at what one household uses: three bedroom sets, two lounge suites, a single dining set, three carpets and one machine of each kind, none of it to be sold for three years. We recommend confirming the conditions before shipping, as Syria’s customs law has been reissued in a new form.
With the embassy in Riyadh, people in the capital can get the list certified more easily than most, but our advice is to certify it after packing, not before, so it matches the load. For packing, the exemption and assembly in full, see furniture moving from Saudi Arabia to Syria, and for the customs conditions in detail, Syria used household goods customs.
Shipping cartons, suitcases and family parcels from Riyadh to Syria
Not everyone shipping to Syria is moving a whole home. Many Riyadh residents send boxes of clothes and gifts to their families, students’ suitcases, or household items to relatives who went back first. We group these on a weekly consolidated truck depending on volume and price them by weight:
- Box weighing up to 25 kg: SAR 165 and up.
- Big travel bag: SAR 138 and up.
- Box weighing up to 30 kg: SAR 184 and up.
- Large carton up to 45 kg: from SAR 320.
- 50 kg by road: SAR 365 and up; bigger consignments are charged SAR 4.6 a kilo.
- Part load of several cartons and parcels: from SAR 1,655.
Write the receiver’s name, Syrian phone number and city on every carton and attach a contents list. Do not put cash, gold, medicines without a prescription or anything from the banned list below in the boxes. For sizes and details, see cartons and parcels shipping to Syria.
Shipping commercial goods from Riyadh to Syria
For Riyadh traders and factories we offer part loads (LTL) charged by weight or volume, and full trucks (FTL) for larger consignments. We carry building materials, household goods, clothing, spare parts, electrical appliances and packaged food, and arrange refrigerated transport for dates and foods that need a set temperature. By truck, trade cargo is billed from SAR 4.6 a kilo on volume, with cover available from 0.9% of what the cargo is worth.
A trader’s file for Syria holds the sales invoice, a list of packages and weights, proof of where the goods were made, the sender’s Saudi CR, and an importer or broker on the Syrian side. Goods pay duty under Syria’s new unified customs tariff, at a rate that depends on the item. As the truck crosses Jordan in transit, the transit papers must match the load exactly, and we review them with you before loading. For more on trucks and loads, see land freight from Saudi Arabia to Syria.
Air freight from Riyadh to Damascus and Aleppo
Riyadh is the best Saudi city for air freight to Syria, with direct flights to Damascus at around two a day and flights to Aleppo according to the airline schedule. The flight itself takes about two hours, but the shipment also needs booking, handover at King Khalid airport, clearance at Damascus or Aleppo airport and delivery, so it arrives door to door in 3–5 days.
- Price per kg: from SAR 23 at Gulf International Shipping.
- 10 kg parcel: from SAR 230.
- Best for: urgent documents, prescribed medicines, small electronics, spare parts needed fast and a family’s first-days essentials.
- Not suited to: furniture and large appliances, which cost several times more by air than by road.
If the receiver is in Aleppo, flying straight there saves the 362 km road leg beyond Damascus. For prices at different weights, see air freight from Saudi Arabia to Syria.
Car shipping from Riyadh to Syria: who qualifies?
Before asking about price, find out whether your car can enter Syria at all. Importing a used car for use inside Syria is suspended today. Three cases are allowed: a brand-new car within the two-model-year window set by the current import decision, which pays customs duty under the tariff; an expatriate’s car on temporary entry for a set period, which may not be sold there; or a vehicle merely crossing Syria on its way elsewhere. Motorbikes are refused outright. If you receive a message saying Syria has reopened used-car imports for a token fee, check an official source before you decide anything.
If your car qualifies, we complete its export papers through Absher and Fasah in Riyadh and carry it on an enclosed or open carrier to Nassib. Sedans go from SAR 3,220, larger family cars from SAR 4,140 and luxury models from SAR 5,520. The full rules are in car shipping from Saudi Arabia to Syria.
Do not ship a used car hoping the rule will change
A car that reaches the border without meeting the conditions is not admitted; it waits in the yard or comes back, and you bear the waiting and return costs. That is why we check the model, condition and purpose of entry with you before booking the carrier.

Banned items when shipping from Riyadh to Syria
The main items we do not accept for Syria are motorcycles, weapons and ammunition, narcotics, two-way radios, drones and remote-control toys, anything made in Israel, gas, chemicals and flammable liquids, and bulk cash. Saudi customs will not let antiques or state-subsidised products leave the country. Some devices such as binoculars may be restricted, so ask us before packing them.
Delivery in Hama, Homs, Damascus and Aleppo
After Nassib the Syrian truck takes the international highway north: Damascus first, about 100 km on, then Homs about 162 km from Damascus, then Hama, and Aleppo about 362 km from Damascus. In Hama we deliver across the city and the neighbourhoods by the Orontes and its water-wheels, as well as Salamiyah, Masyaf and the Hama countryside. The coast, Latakia, Tartus, Jableh and Baniyas, takes a western road from Homs, while Deir ez-Zor, Raqqa, Hasakah and Qamishli take the longest.

We call the receiver a day before the truck arrives to confirm the address and that someone will be there, and if the lane is narrow we arrange a smaller vehicle for the last stretch. On delivery the receiver checks pieces and cartons against the list, and our crew assembles the furniture if you ask.

Five slip-ups that delay Riyadh shipments to Syria
- Going for the cheapest advertised rate: some prices leave out the Nassib transfer or delivery within the city, and you are asked for more on arrival.
- Not asking where the transfer happens: a company that does not know the load is moved at Nassib will not be ready for it, and your shipment waits in the yard.
- An incomplete address: the district, nearest landmark and a working Syrian phone number can save a whole day.
- Sending an ineligible car: as explained above, used cars do not get in today.
- Booking in the last week: trucks fill up in holiday seasons, so book at least two weeks ahead.
