Looking for a shipping company from Tabuk to Morocco? Gulf International Shipping loads your things at your door in Tabuk city, Haql, Tayma, Duba, Al-Wajh or Umluj, drives them roughly 1,000 km down to Jeddah Islamic Port, and puts the container on a vessel routed via Suez for Tanger Med or Casablanca; once customs releases it, it is delivered to whichever Moroccan city you name. Count on 22 to 32 days from Tabuk to a home in the north, Fes, Rabat or Casablanca, a few more for Marrakech, Agadir or Oujda, and 3–7 days for anything flown out of Jeddah or Riyadh. Tabuk prices begin at SAR 110 (small parcel), SAR 165 (carton of clothes), SAR 1,655 (bedroom), SAR 3,680 (entire home), SAR 4,140 (twenty-foot container) and SAR 4,600 (a car registered under five years ago).
Many people in Tabuk ask us: why does my shipment go a thousand kilometres down to Jeddah when I am closer to Jordan, Egypt and the port of Duba? The answer lies in how shipping to Morocco works. It is essentially sea freight, and the regular shipping lines to Tanger Med sail from Jeddah Islamic Port. This article explains the route as it really runs, how we protect your belongings on a two-stage journey, road then sea, and when it makes sense to load a container at your door in Tabuk and seal it there, along with prices, timings and Moroccan customs rules.

Why can’t Tabuk shipments go to Morocco by road?
Tabuk sits close to the Jordanian border and the Gulf of Aqaba coast, so some customers expect a truck to drive west from Tabuk all the way to Morocco. In practice there is no road route for furniture and goods to Morocco: the distance across North Africa is very long, the journey passes through several countries and customs systems, and no regular truck services run on it. Shipping to Morocco is therefore either by sea in containers, the right choice for furniture, cars and goods, or by air for light and urgent items.
What about the nearby port of Duba? At Gulf International Shipping, all Morocco shipments leave from Jeddah Islamic Port, because that is where the lines that pass through the Suez Canal to Tanger Med sail from; we book on them and check sailing schedules before every shipment. Having the container in Jeddah also means we can pick the earliest available sailing across several lines rather than waiting for a single vessel.
Adverts worth checking
If someone offers you “road shipping from Tabuk to Morocco” or “arrival within a week by sea”, ask for the departure and arrival ports and the container number. Sailing from Jeddah to Tanger Med takes around ten days by itself, and that is after a long drive from Tabuk and before customs and delivery.
The thousand-kilometre run from Tabuk to Jeddah port
Once packed, the truck leaves Tabuk heading south on the road via Madinah to Jeddah, or along the coastal road through Duba, Al-Wajh and Umluj depending on the pickup point, covering about 1,000 km in one to two days. This distance is why some Tabuk prices are a little higher than those of Hejaz cities close to the port, and it is also why we take particular care with loading: your shipment faces the vibration of a long road before its sea voyage even starts.
That is why loads are strapped, voids packed out so nothing slides, and weight kept low in the trailer with fragile cartons riding up top. We also collect from the towns around Tabuk: Tayma to the east, Haql and Al-Bad’ to the north on the Gulf of Aqaba, and Duba, Al-Wajh and Umluj on the Red Sea coast, with the truck calling at your address on its way south to Jeddah.
Approximate shipping prices from Tabuk to Morocco
Firms that advertise Tabuk–Morocco rates charge more than our list; we deliberately set our floor beneath theirs. The figures below are “from” prices that include the road leg to Jeddah and the sea freight; the final price depends on volume, weight and the delivery city.
Note: from Tabuk allow 22–32 days to the north, Rabat and Casablanca and a handful more for Marrakech, Agadir and Oujda; shared space may add a week; flights take 3–7 days.

Moroccan duty and the 20% VAT on new goods are not in these figures; customs in Morocco charges them directly. To compare Tabuk with other cities, see shipping prices from Saudi Arabia to Morocco.
A container loaded at your door in Tabuk, or shared freight?
Over long distances this question matters more than ever. With a full container we bring the box on a trailer to your home or our yard in Tabuk, load your belongings ourselves and close the doors with a numbered seal. The container goes down to Jeddah, sails and arrives in Morocco without being unloaded or opened until Moroccan customs inspects it. That means less handling, more security and no wait for a shared box to fill. Twenty-foot boxes take some 28–33 cubic metres and start at SAR 4,140; forty-foot ones take some 58–67 and start at SAR 6,440.

Shared freight suits small volumes: a room, a few appliances or some cartons. The truck takes your things to our consolidation warehouse in Jeddah, where they are stowed in a container shared with other Morocco shipments, from SAR 780 per cubic metre. The rule we use with customers: above 5–6 cubic metres a full container is usually cheaper, and the farther your city is from the port, the more a container sealed at your door pays off.
How long does shipping from Tabuk to Morocco take?
Stack those stages and you get 22 to 32 days for Tangier, Fes, Rabat and Casablanca. Southern and eastern cities need a few days more, and shared space can add a week. The thing that shortens the journey most is having the papers ready before loading, so the container makes the first available vessel rather than waiting for the next week’s.
Arrival and clearance at Tanger Med
Tanger Med, on the Strait of Gibraltar, is Morocco’s biggest container port and the destination of most services coming through the Suez Canal. When the container arrives, the Moroccan customs broker lodges the declaration, the shipment is inspected if required, duty is calculated on any new items, and the container leaves by truck. If you are heading for Casablanca or the south, the container may be moved on to Casablanca port and cleared there. At Gulf International Shipping we coordinate with the broker before the vessel arrives so the paperwork is complete on their side.

Time limit at the port
Moroccan customs does not wait long: a container nobody comes to clear within roughly 45 days is classed as abandoned, and storage is billed for every one of those days. That is why we ask for the receiver and their papers to be ready before the container arrives.
Preparing your Tabuk home for a two-stage journey
Our crews go to Al-Masif, Al-Olaya, Al-Qadisiyah, Al-Rayyan, Al-Muruj and every other Tabuk district, as well as company housing and gated compounds. Because a Tabuk shipment covers a long road before spending weeks at sea, our packing is designed for both stages: strong enough for road vibration and sealed enough for sea humidity. We dismantle beds and wardrobes and bag their screws by number, wrap wood in blankets and film, build timber crates for glass, marble and mirrors, drain washing machines and fridges, and fit transit bolts to washer drums where available.
Tabuk is known for its cold winters, and if loading happens in winter the gap between Tabuk’s chill and the heat of the Red Sea raises the risk of condensation in the container, so we add moisture absorbers and raise furniture off the container floor. Every piece is photographed and recorded on a numbered list in Arabic or French, the same list presented to Moroccan customs. If you need to delay shipping, we store your furniture in a closed warehouse. More on household moves in furniture moving from Saudi Arabia to Morocco.
Furniture of Moroccans returning for good from Tabuk, and customs
Anyone settling back in Morocco after years of work in Tabuk can bring their used home furniture, clothes and belongings, plus one of each household appliance, without paying duty, up to whatever limit Moroccan customs is applying, and a family gets this only once. We confirm the conditions with you before loading. From Tabuk in particular we advise starting the paperwork early, because the change-of-residence certificate is issued by the Consulate General of Morocco in Jeddah or the embassy in Riyadh, both a long way from Tabuk, and may need a visit or an appointment.
- The consulate’s original residence-change certificate, which records what you did for a living.
- A full household list, dated and signed by you, written in French or Arabic.
- Your CIN and a copy of the passport page stamped on arrival in Morocco.
- A signed statement that the goods are second-hand, and a notarised proxy if a relative is collecting.
Whatever does not go in the first container can follow, provided it is already on your original list and the follow-up load is cleared at the office that took the first one, inside six months of the certificate being issued. New things are charged duty and 20% VAT. The full explanation is in household goods rules for Moroccans returning home.
Car shipping from Tabuk to Morocco
A car whose first registration is five or more years old cannot be plated in Morocco — retired Moroccans returning from abroad are the exception, allowed up to ten years under conditions. So from Tabuk we only take cars still inside that window: down to Jeddah on a closed transporter, then strapped and covered in a container, from SAR 4,600.
On the Saudi side that means a final export on Absher and a Fasah declaration, which we file. In Morocco, duty and the 20% VAT are worked out from the car’s price, tax horsepower and first-registration date, and you settle them there, apart from our charges. The Moroccan diaspora has some conditional relief: temporary entry for a personal car capped at 180 days a year, and a one-off large cut in duty for people past 60 who have spent more than ten years abroad. Details are in car shipping from Saudi Arabia to Morocco.
Air freight from Tabuk to Morocco
There are no direct flights from Tabuk airport to Morocco, so we send air shipments through King Abdulaziz Airport in Jeddah, which has direct flights to Casablanca and Rabat, or through King Khalid Airport in Riyadh, linked to Casablanca by a direct Saudia flight. The flight is close to seven hours, and after clearance the receiver has it three to seven days from pickup. The minimum urgent air charge is SAR 1,655; above that it is charged per kilo, using whichever is larger of gross and volumetric weight — tell us yours. Shipping cartons and family consignments from Tabuk
The box of clothes you send from Tabuk to your mother in Oujda, or a bag of presents for family in Kenitra, joins a shared container leaving Jeddah. Cartons are SAR 165 and up, parcels to 5 kg SAR 110, to 20 kg SAR 184, to 50 kg SAR 320, and small gifts to 3 kg SAR 92. Write who collects, their Moroccan mobile and town on the outside and slip a list inside; a lot of brand-new clothing can be treated as trade. More: cartons and parcels shipping to Morocco.
Commercial cargo from Tabuk
Businesses in the Tabuk region selling to Moroccan buyers can ship with us: trade lots up to 100 kg from SAR 825, light industrial gear from SAR 1,655, heavy plant from SAR 2,760. Supply the sales invoice, packing list, CR copy and, if made in the Kingdom, an origin certificate; the buyer’s clearing agent deals with Moroccan import formalities. Fresh farm produce cannot cope with a trip this long, so we suggest dried and tinned products that meet Moroccan import requirements.
Delivery to Agadir, the south and all of Morocco
We deliver to every Moroccan region: Tangier, Tetouan, Larache and Al Hoceima in the north; Fes, Meknes and Ifrane; Rabat, Salé, Temara and Kenitra; Casablanca, Mohammedia, Settat and Berrechid; Marrakech, Safi and Essaouira; Oujda, Nador and Berkane; Beni Mellal; the Draa-Tafilalet towns; and the far south when asked. Agadir and the Souss get particular attention, as they are the major cities farthest from Tangier.

Shipments bound for Agadir, Taroudant, Tiznit and Inezgane are usually cleared in Casablanca, then the truck heads south via Marrakech or the coast, which is why they need two to four days more than the northern and central cities, about 24–36 days from Tabuk. We call the receiver before arrival to set a delivery time, and the furniture is unloaded and reassembled at the house.
Documents required for shipping from Tabuk to Morocco
Check how your name is spelt on your passport, iqama and Moroccan documents, because a single letter’s difference can hold up clearance for days. We match the inventory against what is actually loaded before the container is sealed.
Main prohibited items when shipping to Morocco
- Barred: arms and rounds, narcotics, knock-off brands, printed matter against public order, drones of any size, and maps that cut Morocco’s territory short.
- Licence required: medicine without a doctor’s note, transmitters and satellite phones, hunting weapons, living animals, seeds and plants.
- Inspected carefully: multiple new shoes or garments, heavy quantities of tinned goods, and anything antique.
- Saudi export limits: antiquities, old manuscripts and subsidised goods, and degassing appliances where needed.
What makes up the cost from Tabuk to Morocco?
At Gulf International Shipping the cost depends on volume in cubic metres for furniture and goods, on weight for parcels and air freight, and then on container type, packing, the Moroccan city and the shipping season. An example at starting prices: a three-room flat in Al-Muruj of about 30 cubic metres. Shared freight would cost more than SAR 23,000 (30 × 780), while a 20 ft container loaded at the door and sealed starts at SAR 4,140. At the other end, an employee sending three cartons and a TV pays a few hundred riyals in shared freight.
Spending less on a Tabuk to Morocco shipment
- Few belongings? Book by the cubic metre in a shared box, SAR 780 each.
- Book a 20 ft container above 5–6 cubic metres: cheaper, faster and safer than shared.
- Sell or give away bulky old pieces whose freight would outstrip their value.
- Book early, ahead of the busy summer season.
- Use air freight only for papers and urgent items.
Common mistakes when shipping from Tabuk to Morocco
- Believing there is road shipping to Morocco because Tabuk is near the border.
- Booking the consulate or embassy appointment for the residence-change certificate far too late.
- Light packing that cannot cope with a thousand kilometres of road before the sea.
- Sending a car past five years from first registration; Morocco will not plate it.
- Leaving the receiver without papers ready, so the container sits at the port as fees mount.
- Using northern-city timings for Agadir and Marrakech, which need extra days.
Can you ship from Morocco to Tabuk?
Yes. Lines between Jeddah and Tanger Med run both ways, so we receive the container at Jeddah Islamic Port and truck it on to Tabuk. Saudi import rules decide what can come, so send a list and the weight and we will check and price it.
