Gulf International Shipping moves furniture, boxes, stock and cars from Dammam to Morocco door to door: we collect from your home in Dammam, Khobar, Dhahran, Jubail, Qatif or Al-Ahsa, drive the load in a closed truck roughly 1,300–1,400 km across the Kingdom to Jeddah Islamic Port, load it into a container that sails up the Red Sea and through Suez for Tanger Med or Casablanca, then clear it and deliver it to the receiver’s address in Morocco. From the Eastern Province, allow about 23–34 days door to door for Tangier, Rabat, Casablanca and Fes, plus two to four days for Marrakech, Agadir and Oujda. From the Eastern Province, a small parcel costs from SAR 365 with us, clothing cartons from SAR 640 and a full bedroom set from SAR 3,220; shared container space is charged from SAR 780 a cubic metre, a twenty-foot box from SAR 4,140, and a car younger than five years from SAR 4,600.
If you live in the Eastern Province and are planning a move to Morocco, or simply want to send things home to family, you have probably heard three different stories: one company promises delivery within a week, another says the container leaves from Dammam port, and a third talks about a road route that does not exist. This guide walks through what really happens to a shipment between the first sealed carton in Khobar and the moment the receiver opens the door in Agadir or Tangier: why we route Eastern Province cargo through Jeddah, how many days each leg takes, what decides the price, at what point your own container becomes cheaper than paying by the metre, and which papers Moroccan customs want from returning nationals and from other senders.

Why do Dammam shipments to Morocco sail from Jeddah?
There is no road from Saudi Arabia to Morocco. Everything goes by sea up the Red Sea, through the Suez Canal and west across the Mediterranean to the Strait of Gibraltar, or by air. Morocco lies at the far western end of North Africa, while Dammam sits on the Arabian Gulf at the eastern edge of the Kingdom, so a ship leaving the Gulf would have to sail right round the Arabian Peninsula before it even reached the Red Sea. That is why Gulf International Shipping collects Eastern Province cargo bound for Morocco and trucks it overland to Jeddah Islamic Port, which faces the Red Sea directly and sits on the same northbound line to Suez.
The routing gives you three practical advantages. Your goods join the regular services between Jeddah and Tanger Med rather than waiting for an occasional sailing. Your load is consolidated in our Jeddah warehouse with other Morocco-bound consignments, so a shared container fills faster and waits less. And Saudi export formalities and inspection happen at one port whose procedures we deal with every day. So if someone offers you a “direct sailing from Dammam port to Morocco”, ask for the name of the service and the real transit time before you pay anything.
Note: distances are approximate highway figures; the time includes the collection day and the closed-truck run to the Gulf International Shipping warehouse in Jeddah.
How long does shipping from Dammam to Morocco take?
Door to door, a shipment from Dammam to the main towns of northern and central Morocco takes roughly 23 to 34 days. That is the longest of any Saudi origin, because the road leg to Jeddah adds two or three days. We give a range rather than a single figure because several steps run to someone else’s clock: the container cut-off before sailing, the vessel schedule and clearance at the Moroccan port. The table breaks the journey down so you know where your goods are each week:
Note: the total is about 23–34 days for a full container; a shared container can add up to 7 days while it fills, and vessel timetables, Red Sea conditions and customs all affect the final count.
If the receiver is in Tangier, Tetouan, Fes or Meknes, expect the shorter end of the range, because the container is opened at Tanger Med and a Moroccan truck heads straight for the address. Casablanca and Rabat depend on the box reaching Casablanca port or being trucked down from Tangier. Marrakech, Agadir, Oujda and Nador need another two to four days for the longer drive inside Morocco.
Shipping prices from Dammam to Morocco
With Gulf International Shipping, shipping from Dammam to Morocco starts at SAR 365 for a parcel up to 5 kg and rises to several thousand riyals for a whole home or a container. The difference from Jeddah prices comes from the long road to the port, not from the sea leg. The first table summarises typical prices the way people search for them; the second lists individual items:

Note: sea shipments from Dammam take about 23–34 days door to door and air shipments 3–7 days. Moroccan customs duty and VAT on new goods are not part of the freight price.

The price you receive is worked out on the volume of your goods in cubic metres or on a whole container, and it moves with the level of packing and the Moroccan delivery town. For a side-by-side view of every Saudi origin, see shipping prices from Saudi Arabia to Morocco.
Where do we collect in the Eastern Province?
Our crews cover every town and governorate in the Eastern Province, and we set your collection day to match the next truck heading for Jeddah, so your goods are not stored longer than they need to be. Each area tends to send its own kind of cargo:
Dammam
Moroccan families moving home for good, holiday cartons and gifts, and stock from warehouses in the industrial city.
Khobar and Dhahran
Villa and compound furniture, plus the belongings of employees and teachers finishing their contracts.
Jubail and Ras Tanura
Belongings of industrial-sector staff, and spare parts or light equipment that need special packing.
Qatif, Saihat and Safwa
Household furniture, appliances and medium-sized family consignments.
Al-Ahsa: Hofuf and Mubarraz
Packed dates and sealed food, home furniture and small commercial loads.
Abqaiq, Nairyah and Hafar Al-Batin
Collection by appointment, joined to the nearest run to Jeddah.
Moving household furniture from Dammam and Khobar to Morocco
Furniture leaving the Eastern Province faces a long road trip, sometimes in summer heat, followed by two weeks or more inside a closed box at sea. Packing for Morocco is therefore a different job from a local move. Our team starts by dismantling beds and wardrobes, numbering every piece and taping its screws in a bag to it. Wood gets a moisture-barrier wrap, then blankets and corner board; glass, marble and paintings go into made-to-measure wooden crates. Appliances are drained before packing, and the fridge is left open for a day to dry so it does not develop a smell on the way.
Even more important than the wrapping is the inventory. Every carton gets a number and a clear description, items are photographed before they are sealed, and the list is prepared in Arabic or French, because Moroccan customs ask for a detailed, dated and signed inventory, particularly if you are claiming the returning-resident exemption. The same list protects you on delivery: the receiver checks the cartons against the numbers and can see at once if anything is missing.

Before packing day
Sort out what you will leave behind before the crew arrives. Every cubic metre sent to Morocco has a price, and a heavy, worn-out piece can cost more to ship than to replace there. Keep the receipts for new appliances, as Moroccan customs may ask about them.
If you fly out before the shipping date, we store your goods in a closed warehouse until your papers are ready or the shared container is full, and we send you photos of your cartons in storage. Our furniture guide goes further: furniture moving from Saudi Arabia to Morocco.
Shared container or full container from Dammam?
In a shared container (LCL) you pay only for the cubic metres your goods occupy, from SAR 780 per m³, and they travel alongside other customers’ consignments, separated and marked. A full container (FCL) is yours alone: it is loaded at your door or in our warehouse, sealed, and not opened again until Moroccan customs. Expect to pay from SAR 4,140 for a 20 ft box, which normally swallows a two- or three-bedroom flat, a 40 ft container starts at SAR 6,440 and suits villas and larger homes.
The arithmetic is simple and worth knowing. Divide the 20 ft price by the shared rate and the break-even point comes out at around 5 cubic metres. Above that, a full container is usually cheaper, quicker and safer, since it does not wait for consolidation and is never unloaded with anyone else’s cargo. For a few cartons and a couple of appliances, shared space makes more sense. We measure your load with you, from photos or on a visit, and recommend whichever is cheaper in your case.
The sea leg: Jeddah through Suez to Tanger Med
Once export formalities are complete at Jeddah Islamic Port, the crane loads your container onto a ship bound for Suez; after the canal it crosses the Mediterranean towards the Strait of Gibraltar and berths at Tanger Med roughly 10 days after leaving Jeddah. Tanger Med is Morocco’s largest container port and overlooks the Strait of Gibraltar. From there, cargo goes by road to the north and the centre of the country, or is relayed to Casablanca port depending on the service. Shipments for the south may on occasion arrive at Agadir, depending on the services available.
Before your container is closed we look at the vessels leaving Jeddah for Suez, pick the earliest suitable one and tell you which Moroccan port it will discharge at, so the receiver can have the papers ready in good time. There is not yet a dedicated direct shipping line between Saudi Arabia and Morocco, so cargo relies on these regular international services. Air freight from Dammam to Morocco
There are no direct flights from Dammam to Morocco, so Gulf International Shipping sends Eastern Province air cargo through Riyadh or Jeddah. Saudia flies nonstop from Riyadh to Casablanca, and from Jeddah there are direct flights to Casablanca on Royal Air Maroc, Saudia and flynas, plus a flynas service to Rabat, all subject to the airline schedule. Flying time is about 7 hours, and door-to-door air delivery takes roughly 3–7 days including clearance at Mohammed V Airport.
Air suits urgent papers and documents, medicines allowed on prescription, small gifts and anything the owner needs before the container arrives. An express parcel costs from SAR 1,655, and heavier air cargo is priced by the kilo once we know the weight and the flight, so message us on WhatsApp. Read on in air freight from Saudi Arabia to Morocco.
Shipping a car from Dammam to Morocco
We only accept passenger cars that have not yet reached five years from first registration, since Morocco refuses to register older ones outside a few narrow exceptions, and from the Eastern Province they travel in a closed container out of Jeddah. Your car travels from Dammam to Jeddah on an enclosed carrier, is strapped to the container floor and sealed in. Prices start at SAR 4,600 for the road leg, loading and sea freight, while Moroccan customs duty and 20% VAT are assessed by customs looking at what the car is worth, its fiscal horsepower and when it was first registered.
On the Saudi side we complete the vehicle export through Absher and the export declaration on Fasah, so make sure the car is in your name and any traffic fines are paid. Moroccans living abroad have particular arrangements, including a yearly allowance for bringing the car in temporarily during your holidays and conditional reductions for retirees. Furniture for Moroccans returning home from the Eastern Province
If you are a Moroccan national moving back for good after years working in Dammam, Jubail or Al-Ahsa, Moroccan customs let your used furniture, clothes, personal belongings and a single appliance of each kind in without duty, up to a ceiling they set, and only once for each household. Bring the original change-of-residence certificate issued by the Moroccan consulate covering your area, plus a detailed inventory that is dated and signed; the goods should be things you already owned and used before moving.
If you cannot send everything at once, a second consignment is possible, provided each piece is already on your first list, it is cleared at the office that handled the first lot, and it lands within six months of the date on your certificate. New furniture and appliances pay duty and 20% VAT. Check the latest conditions with Moroccan customs before the container is loaded; we will help you put the list together in Arabic or French. Storage deadline in Morocco
Uncleared cargo sitting at a Moroccan port runs up storage charges, and after a maximum of 45 days customs may treat it as abandoned. That is why we prepare the papers with the receiver before the container lands and finish clearance within the deadline.
Documents needed to ship from Dammam to Morocco
Note: we handle the Fasah authorisation in Saudi Arabia, and the Moroccan documents are reviewed with the receiver before sailing.
Prohibited and restricted items for Morocco
Moroccan customs bar weapons and ammunition, narcotics, printed or recorded material contrary to public order and morals, counterfeit goods, any kind of drone, toys included, and maps that leave out part of Morocco’s territory. Some items need prior permission: medicines need a prescription for personal use, radio and satellite communication devices need approval from the Moroccan telecoms authority, plants need a phytosanitary certificate, and animals and animal products have their own rules. With tinned food, it is best to stick to small household quantities.
On the Saudi side, weapons, antiquities and subsidised goods cannot be exported without a licence, and we do not ship flammable liquids, gas cylinders or large loose batteries. Not sure about an item? Photograph it and send it over before packing day, and you will have an answer before anything goes on the truck.

How is the cost of shipping from Dammam to Morocco worked out?
Gulf International Shipping prices a move on five things: the volume of your goods in cubic metres or the type of container, the level of packing (standard or wooden crates), the road leg from your Eastern Province town to Jeddah, the Moroccan delivery town, and extras such as storage, insurance and clearance. Moroccan duty and VAT, where they apply to new goods or cars, are not in our price, because customs charge them to the receiver.
A worked example: a family in Khobar has a bedroom, a small living room, a fridge, a washing machine and about 20 cartons, which we measure at roughly 8 cubic metres. Paid by the metre, that is at least 8 × 780 = SAR 6,240; a whole 20 ft box, which takes all of it comfortably, costs from SAR 4,140. Here we would recommend the full container: it is cheaper, quicker and stays sealed until Morocco. If the shipment were just 10 cartons, shared space or the fixed carton rate would be the better deal.
Which option is cheapest for sending goods from Dammam to Morocco?
- Shared container for small loads: for cartons, suitcases and a few appliances, you pay by the metre.
- Your own 20 ft box once you pass roughly 5 m³: from that point the flat container price is lower than paying metre by metre.
- Cut the volume: dismantled beds and wardrobes save a lot of space, and cheap heavy pieces are rarely worth shipping.
- Book before summer: demand for moves to Morocco climbs before the summer holidays, and early booking gets you a better slot.
- Sea, not air, for ordinary goods: air is fast but only makes sense for light, urgent items.
Common mistakes when shipping from Dammam to Morocco
- Believing the one-week promise: the voyage alone is about 10 days, and the realistic time from Dammam is 23–34 days.
- Looking for road freight: there is no road route to Morocco, and anyone selling one is not describing a real journey.
- A small “customs included” car price: Moroccan duty and 20% VAT are calculated by customs per car and cannot be part of a small fixed freight price.
- Shipping a car over 5 years old: it may arrive and then fail to register, so check the age before booking.
- An incomplete inventory: an unlisted item may be treated as new or hold up clearance.
- Leaving the papers until last: the change-of-residence certificate is needed before shipping, not after the container lands.
