Gulf International Shipping carries Madinah cargo to Lebanon overland: up the highway to Tabuk, out of the Kingdom at Halat Ammar, through Jordan under transit to Jaber, and into the Nassib yard, where the goods change to a lorry entitled to drive across Syria and finish the trip through Masnaa to your home in the Bekaa, Beirut, Mount Lebanon or any other governorate. The distance is roughly 1,350–1,400 km, with delivery to the Bekaa and Beirut in 7–10 working days. With Gulf International Shipping, costs from Madinah begin at SAR 92 for a parcel of no more than 5 kg, SAR 920 for a dismantled, wrapped bedroom, SAR 3,680 for an entire home, SAR 4,140 for a car Lebanon will accept, and SAR 32 for each kilo flown nonstop from Madinah to Beirut.
Madinah sits in a handy spot on the Lebanon route. It lies on the same northern road that leads to Tabuk and then Jordan, so its trucks never have to detour via Riyadh or Qassim, and its shipments usually arrive a day or two ahead of those from Riyadh, Jeddah and Makkah. Its international airport is also one of the few in the Kingdom with direct flights to Beirut. This guide covers what anyone shipping from Madinah to Lebanon needs to know: the route and its stages, item-by-item prices, timings to each region, what happens to furniture at the borders, which dates and gifts can go, and the exemption rules for returning Lebanese households.

Why does shipping from Madinah to Lebanon arrive sooner than from Riyadh or Jeddah?
Because Madinah is already on the way. Trucks from Jeddah and Makkah pass through Madinah heading north, and Riyadh trucks take a longer eastern road to the Al-Haditha post. A Madinah truck starts roughly halfway along: it heads for Tabuk and then the Halat Ammar post, the closest Saudi exit into Jordan for cargo from the west of the Kingdom. That saves hundreds of kilometres compared with Makkah and Jeddah, which is why Madinah prices sit below those of the southern Hejaz and Riyadh on most items.
The Saudi truck’s journey ends at Nassib, because driving inside Syria is currently open to Syrian trucks, or to trucks transiting to a third country under customs escort. So our team hands the load over in the yard to the truck that completes the trip and counts the pieces before and after the transfer. Both crossings are explained in more depth in our Masnaa crossing guide and Nassib crossing guide.
Direct air freight from Madinah to Beirut
Madinah’s own airport, Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz International, has nonstop Middle East Airlines services to Beirut, according to its published schedule, which can change. So an air consignment from Madinah skips the road leg to Jeddah or Riyadh altogether, which saves roughly a day. And since Madinah is closer to Beirut than Jeddah or Riyadh, its flight is shorter than theirs.
- Price: SAR 32 a kilo upwards, billed on the greater of the scale weight and the weight worked out from the dimensions.
- Timing: 3–5 days from collection in Madinah to handover in Lebanon, subject to flight space and formalities at Beirut.
- Good for: documents and certificates, phones and laptops, permitted prescription medicines, spare parts and light gifts.
- Not good for: furniture or big appliances; flying them would cost many times the truck rate.

Approximate shipping prices from Madinah to Lebanon
We went through the prices Madinah movers publish and set every one of our starting points under the cheapest of them. Because Madinah is closer to Lebanon than Riyadh, Jeddah and Makkah, we never price any item here above those cities. Read the lower number as our entry price and the upper one as the level bigger consignments typically reach.
Note: road freight from Madinah reaches the Bekaa and Beirut in roughly 7–10 working days and Tripoli or Sidon in 8–12 days; direct air freight takes 3–5 days. Queues at the three crossings and the pace of clearance can move these figures.
Madinah price list by piece
Madinah set against every other loading city: shipping prices from Saudi Arabia to Lebanon.
Delivery times from Madinah to Beirut, the Bekaa and Mount Lebanon
A shared load waits until the truck is filled with other shipments, adding 3–5 days but costing less. Timings run from loading day in Madinah and are affected by seasonal congestion at the crossings. Before each truck leaves we ask how the crossings are running, and once your goods are past Nassib you get an estimated delivery day.
From the harrat to Dahr al-Baidar: what your furniture goes through on the road
Furniture leaving Madinah passes through very different conditions. It starts in the heat and dryness of the Hejaz, crosses the deserts of Tabuk and Jordan, then after Masnaa climbs into the heights of Dahr al-Baidar, where the air is cooler and damper, before dropping to the humid coast at Beirut and Jounieh. Those swings affect wood, leather and appliances unless they are well wrapped, so we seal each piece in tight film to shut out dust and damp.

In the Nassib yard the load comes off our truck and goes onto the one that finishes the journey, so every piece passes through new hands. That is why we number the cartons against the packing list, put the heaviest items at the bottom and the lightest on top when restacking, and make sure sensitive appliances are secured so they do not shift on the mountain bends after Masnaa.
Pickup across Madinah and nearby towns
Every corner of the city is on our rounds: Sultanah and Shoran, Quba and Al-Awali, Al-Khalidiyah, Al-Difa, Al-Aziziyah, and both the eastern and western Harrah. We also collect from the region’s governorates on dates agreed in advance:
- Yanbu: on the coast west of Madinah; its shipments are consolidated with Madinah’s before heading north.
- AlUla: north of Madinah; we schedule collection to suit the truck’s departure towards Tabuk.
- Badr: between Madinah and the coast, added to the load in Madinah.
- Khaybar: also north of Madinah; we consolidate in Madinah or collect on an agreed date.
In the districts around the Prophet’s Mosque we load outside peak hours and use a small support vehicle when the truck cannot stop at the building. Large homes in the newer districts can be reached by the truck directly.
How do we prepare furniture in Madinah for the trip to Lebanon?
- Dining tables and cabinets: we turn the table over onto a blanket, fit foam corners to the legs and edges, then wrap it in clear film.
- Rugs: rolled into cylinders and sealed in film so they do not soak up moisture on the mountain road.
- Mirrors, paintings and glass: made-to-measure wooden crates, because cardboard won’t survive the second loading at Nassib.
- Appliances: gas drained from AC units and fridges, moving parts of the washer secured, and screens packed in their boxes or a wooden frame.
- Cartons: red tape, a number on two sides, a short description, and a matching list the recipient keeps a copy of.

Photograph before you seal
Photograph every valuable item open, then again once wrapped with its number visible. The two photos settle any question at delivery and help if you ever need to claim on insurance.
Madinah dates and gifts: what can be shipped to Lebanon?
Madinah dates are among the things residents send most often to family in Lebanon, along with copies of the Quran, prayer rugs, perfumes and clothes. Personal gifts and cartons travel on the shared load and are priced by weight: a small parcel starts at SAR 92 and a parcel up to 20 kg at SAR 184.
Food, however, needs approval from the relevant ministry in Lebanon, so we recommend dates in factory-sealed packs showing the product name and expiry date, in sensible personal quantities. Commercial quantities of dates or other food need Lebanese import papers and a certificate of origin, and chilled food starts at SAR 920. We go through the list with you before sealing so no carton is held at inspection. Regular senders will find more in cartons and parcels shipping to Lebanon.
Furniture of Lebanese returning from Madinah: customs exemption conditions
A Lebanese resident of Madinah who is going back to live in Lebanon permanently is entitled to bring their used furniture and belongings in duty-free, a right that can be used a single time, provided all of these apply:
Anything brand new falls outside the exemption and attracts duty and 11% VAT; a car has its own rules and is not part of it either. The conditions are confirmed before shipping, because Lebanese customs can adjust the details. The complete rules sit in Lebanon used household goods customs; for an entire household, see also furniture moving from Saudi Arabia to Lebanon.
Car shipping from Madinah to Lebanon
Two tests decide whether Lebanon takes a car: the steering wheel must be on the left, and a passenger car may be no more than eight years old (five for a transport vehicle). We do not load anything that fails them. Shipping a car from Madinah starts at SAR 4,140 on an enclosed or open carrier, and it stays on the carrier all the way from Madinah to Lebanon.
- 1Export the car
through Absher, then the customs declaration on Fasah. - 2Hand it over empty
with no personal belongings, plus the registration, ownership papers and owner’s ID. - 3The journey on the carrier
via Halat Ammar, Jordan and Nassib to Masnaa, about 7–10 working days. - 4Clearance in Lebanon
duty and tax are set by Lebanese customs from the car’s worth and build year.
Lebanese charges are separate from the freight price; the paperwork and temporary entry are explained in car shipping from Saudi Arabia to Lebanon.
Shipping commercial goods from Madinah to Lebanon
Traders in Madinah and Yanbu have two options: a full truckload (FTL) for one trader on a date of their choosing, or a part load (LTL) paid by volume. Products made in the Kingdom enter Lebanon free of customs duty thanks to the Arab free trade agreement, as long as a proper certificate of origin travels with them, though 11% VAT still applies. We file the export on Fasah, prepare the transit documents and see the entry through at Masnaa, with clearance charged from SAR 276. Anyone with a heavy container that can wait may send it by sea from Jeddah to Beirut or Tripoli port, roughly 15–25 days, while furniture, cars and parcels stay on the road.
Delivery in Jounieh, Keserwan and the rest of Lebanon
After Masnaa, deliveries start in the Bekaa; then the truck climbs to Dahr al-Baidar and descends towards Beirut, continuing north to Jounieh, Keserwan and Byblos and south to Sidon and Tyre. Homes in Mount Lebanon and Keserwan are often built on slopes, with winding roads, high floors and wide balconies, so we send a smaller delivery vehicle when needed and carry large items such as mirrors and wardrobes by hand.

- Bekaa and Baalbek–Hermel: Zahle, Chtaura, West Bekaa, Baalbek, Hermel.
- Beirut: Hamra, Verdun, Achrafieh, Mazraa, Ras Beirut.
- Mount Lebanon: Jounieh, Keserwan, Byblos, Metn, Baabda, Aley, Chouf.
- North and Akkar: Tripoli, Batroun, Koura, Zgharta, Bsharri, Halba.
- South and Nabatieh: Sidon, Bint Jbeil, Tyre, Marjayoun, Jezzine, Nabatieh.
Documents required for shipping from Madinah to Lebanon
- Furniture and personal effects: copy of iqama or ID, copy of passport, and a numbered packing list.
- Exempt returnees: an inventory stamped by the Lebanese mission plus proof of residence, then in Lebanon the original passport, civil-registry extract, lease and mukhtar’s certificate.
- Goods: commercial invoice, commercial registration, certificate of origin and a Fasah export declaration.
- Car: Absher export, registration, ownership document and owner’s ID.
- Recipient in Lebanon: ID or passport and a working Lebanese phone number.
Items you cannot send from Madinah to Lebanon
The main prohibited and restricted items on this route are weapons, ammunition and knives; narcotics; gas lighters, gas cylinders and flammables; used medical equipment; 900 MHz cordless phones; counterfeit goods or goods with misleading origin; any product originating from Israel; and passenger cars more than 8 years old. Medicines need a prescription and a personal quantity, and food in commercial quantities needs Lebanese approval. On the Saudi side, antiquities and heritage items may not be exported. Ask us about any item before it is packed.

Mistakes we see on Madinah to Lebanon shipments
- Relying on ordinary cardboard for mirrors and glass on a trip with two loadings.
- Shipping large quantities of dates or food without checking Lebanon’s requirements.
- Sending the shipment before the embassy has certified the list.
- Shipping a car over 8 years old or with right-hand drive.
- Choosing a company that cannot say who receives the load at Nassib.
- Not identifying a nearby spot where the truck can stop on Mount Lebanon’s narrow streets.
