Gulf International Shipping moves cargo from Makkah to Lebanon by road: our truck drives north out of Makkah, leaves the Kingdom at Halat Ammar and runs through Jordan under transit seals as far as Jaber; on the Syrian side, in the Nassib yard, your goods are shifted to a vehicle allowed to travel across Syria, which carries them into Lebanon through Masnaa and on to the address you give us anywhere in the country. Expect Beirut and the Bekaa about 8 to 12 working days after collection. With Gulf International Shipping, a gift or bag of personal things costs from SAR 92, a parcel of 5 kg or less from SAR 110, a dismantled and wrapped bedroom from SAR 1,840, a car aged 8 years or under from SAR 4,140, and air cargo through Jeddah airport from SAR 32 a kilo.
If you live in Makkah, you have something most shippers to Lebanon don’t: three transport options within easy reach. There is the overland route north through Jordan and Syria, King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah about an hour’s drive away, and Jeddah Islamic Port, which has container services to the ports of Beirut and Tripoli. Too many options can be confusing, though. Should household furniture go by sea because the port is close? Is an urgent parcel worth the cost of flying? This guide is for anyone packing up in Al-Shawqiyyah, Al-Awali or Al-Jumum who wants hard numbers on which route suits their shipment, what it costs, and which papers Lebanese customs will ask for.

Makkah to Lebanon: road, sea or air?
Two questions settle it: how big is your shipment, and when do you need it in Lebanon? Road is how most family shipments travel, because it runs from your front door in Makkah to your front door in Lebanon without the goods passing through ports, ships and warehouses. Sea works out cheaper for full containers and heavy goods, but it is slower and needs port clearance. Air is for small, valuable or urgent items, since it is priced by the kilo.
What we tell customers who ask Gulf International Shipping which mode to pick: below a full container, the road nearly always wins, because sending a small load by sea adds port, unloading and storage charges that wipe out the saving. If you have a full commercial container that is not urgent, sea from Jeddah is a sound option and we can arrange it. And for a handful of kilos needed urgently, the plane is the answer.
Approximate shipping prices from Makkah to Lebanon
Our Makkah prices are built on the rates published for Makkah itself, and we set ours below the lowest advertised price for each item. Where nothing is published for Makkah, we used nearby Jeddah, then Riyadh. Each cell shows a lower figure, which is where our pricing begins, and a higher one, which bigger or fiddlier loads tend to reach.
Note: by truck, Makkah to Beirut or the Bekaa is around 8–12 working days, and to Tripoli, Sidon or Tyre 9–14 days; by plane, 3–5 days. Timings vary with congestion at Jaber, Nassib and Masnaa and with how quickly clearance goes.
Item-by-item prices from Makkah to Lebanon
Plenty of Makkah customers send just one or two things, such as a fridge for their parents’ house or a wardrobe for the children’s room. Here is where each item starts when it rides on a shared truck:
If you want Makkah side by side with the other loading cities, open shipping prices from Saudi Arabia to Lebanon. You will notice Makkah costs a little more than Tabuk or Madinah: a truck leaving Makkah covers roughly a thousand extra kilometres before it reaches the point a Tabuk truck starts from.
How long does shipping from Makkah to Lebanon take?
A road shipment from Makkah has four stages: the drive inside the Kingdom to Halat Ammar, which is the longest leg; the Jordanian transit to Jaber; the Nassib yard, where the load moves to the truck that crosses Syria; and finally Masnaa, Lebanese clearance and delivery. The driving time barely changes. The border posts are what turn the answer into a range rather than a single number.
These figures are approximate and count from loading day in Makkah. Three things usually stretch them: missing paperwork that holds up clearance, peak queues at Jaber or Nassib, or a delivery to a remote mountain area that needs a smaller vehicle. That is why we check the status of the crossings before every departure and send you an expected arrival date once the load has cleared Nassib.
The road route from Makkah to the Masnaa crossing
Lebanon touches neither the Kingdom nor Jordan, so the road there unavoidably crosses two other countries: Jordan first, then Syria. From Makkah the truck takes the Madinah road and then on to Tabuk, leaving the Kingdom at the Halat Ammar border post north of Tabuk, the natural exit for Hejaz cargo. On the Jordanian side it enters at Mudawwara, then climbs via Ma’an to Amman and on to the Jordanian Jaber post on the Syrian border. This whole leg is transit: Jordan does not open the load or charge import duty on it.
After Jaber comes the Syrian Nassib crossing, and this is the step most advertisers leave out. our Saudi truck’s run currently stops at this gate, which means the cargo comes off in the customs yard and is reloaded onto a vehicle with the right to travel on, typically a Syrian lorry, or a Lebanese lorry that customs officers accompany all the way to the Lebanese side. That truck drives on past Damascus to Jdeidet Yabous and crosses into Lebanon at Masnaa, the commercial crossing in operation between the two countries, where Lebanese clearance takes place. For more on this crossing, its hours and paperwork, read our Masnaa border crossing guide, and for the Syrian stage our Nassib crossing guide.
Who takes charge of your goods at Nassib?
On the Lebanon route, this is the question that separates one company from another. Moving a load from one truck to another means every carton is handled twice and the packing list is checked in the yard. At Gulf International Shipping our team oversees the transfer, counts the numbered pieces coming off and going on, and lets you know when the truck sets off for Jdeidet Yabous. We never leave a load in the yard with nobody to receive it, because that is how things go missing and get delayed.
Ad claims that don’t match the current route
“Our Saudi truck delivers straight to Beirut” does not describe how the crossings work today. Jaber is Jordanian, not Syrian; Masnaa is Lebanese; and Jdeidet Yabous is the Syrian post facing it. Before you pay any company, put one question to them: at Nassib, whose hands does my cargo pass into, and how will I track it to Masnaa?

Once through Masnaa, the shipment is already in the Bekaa plain, which is why Zahle and Chtaura deliveries arrive first. From the Bekaa the road climbs west over Dahr al-Baidar, drops down to Beirut and the coast, and branches north and south from there.
Collection points across Makkah and its region
Every Makkah district is on our pickup list, and we pick the right vehicle ahead of loading day by looking at the street and the building. The outer neighbourhoods, Al-Sharaie, Al-Awali and Wali Al-Ahd among them, are spacious enough for a full-size truck to park at your gate. Older, higher districts such as Jarwal, Al-Misfalah, Al-Hijrah and parts of Al-Zahir are served by a light van that shuttles your things down to the big truck parked on the nearest main road; that shuttle is priced in from the start so loading day holds no surprises.
During the busy Hajj and Umrah seasons we load early in the morning or after the evening prayer, as traffic in central Makkah changes a lot. Customers in Al-Lith or Al-Qunfudhah to the south should know their shipment is collected first and then starts its journey north, which adds a day or two compared with Makkah itself.
Packing Makkah households for a trip with two loadings
Furniture bound for Lebanon is not loaded once, as in a local move, but at least twice: in Makkah and again at Nassib. So we design the packing to survive two different crews and a long road that runs through hot desert and then up into the cooler heights of Lebanon.
- Wood and beds: fully dismantled, edges wrapped in foam corners, then a layer of corrugated board and a layer of stretch film.
- Glass, marble and mirrors: made-to-measure wooden crates, because cardboard alone will not survive two loadings.
- Tableware and ornaments: white packing paper for each piece, then bubble wrap, then a double-wall carton.
- Appliances: gas drained from the AC and fridge, the washer drum locked, cables bagged and tied to the unit.
- Numbering: every carton gets a number and a description that match the packing list, and valuables are photographed before sealing.

A “first day” box for Lebanon
Put everything you need on your first day into one carton: bedding, basic kitchen items, chargers and an assembly screwdriver. Ask our crew to load it last in Makkah so it comes off first at your door in Lebanon. Keep gold, cash, official papers and daily medicines with you on the plane.
Moving the furniture of Lebanese returning home from Makkah
If you are Lebanese, living in Makkah and returning to Lebanon for good, you can bring your used household goods in without paying customs duty. It is a right you can use only once, and the core conditions are:
- Over three unbroken years of living abroad, and a return that is for good, not a visit.
- Your inventory stamped by the Lebanese mission in the Kingdom, embassy or consulate, together with a paper showing you live here and are going back.
- The goods must land in Lebanon no more than three months after you yourself arrive, and you must be there in person when they are cleared.
- The items are genuinely used, and you do not sell them for three years.
- In Lebanon: your original passport, a fresh family civil-registry extract, the mukhtar’s certificate of where you live, and a lease the municipality has stamped.
New, unused items are not covered and pay duty plus Lebanese VAT of 11%. Cars fall outside the household exemption too. These conditions are confirmed before shipping; we go over them with you against current Lebanese customs practice. The full rules are in Lebanon used household goods customs. Moving an entire home? Time your flight with your shipment
The three-month window starts when you enter Lebanon. We suggest booking the loading a few days before you fly, so the shipment arrives shortly after you do and you can attend clearance yourself, rather than the goods waiting in a warehouse for you, or you waiting for them.
Shipping gifts, family parcels and cartons from Makkah to Lebanon
Plenty of Makkah shipments are small: presents for relatives, prayer rugs, copies of the Quran, perfumes, clothes, or boxes a resident sends to family in Tripoli or Sidon. None of this needs a dedicated truck. It travels in the shared loads we consolidate for Lebanon departures and is priced by weight:
- A light gift or personal items: from SAR 92.
- Parcel up to 5 kg: from SAR 110.
- Parcel up to 20 kg: from SAR 184.
- Heavier cartons on a shared load: SAR 11 per kg.
Write the recipient’s name, Lebanese phone number and area on every carton, and send us a list of what is inside. Alcohol-based perfumes and food need particular care, so we check with you what can go before you seal anything. More in cartons and parcels shipping to Lebanon.
Shipping commercial goods from Makkah to Lebanon
Makkah traders have two ways into the Lebanese market. The first is by road, either as a full truckload (FTL) belonging to one trader and leaving on a date they choose, or as a part load (LTL) where several traders share the truck and each pays for the space their goods take. The second is by sea, in a container from Jeddah port, which suits heavy goods that are not urgent.
Saudi-made products pay no Lebanese customs duty, because both countries belong to the Greater Arab Free Trade Area; they do need a sound certificate of origin, and 11% VAT is still charged. Goods made outside the Arab countries pay duty that varies by tariff line. Gulf International Shipping handles export through the Fasah platform, prepares the transit papers and follows clearance at Masnaa, with customs clearance from SAR 276.
Car shipping from Makkah to Lebanon
Before you book: Lebanon turns away passenger cars older than eight years and any right-hand-drive vehicle, so we only load cars that pass both tests. Moving a car from Makkah to Lebanon costs from SAR 4,140 on a closed or open carrier, and the car rides on the carrier the whole way to Lebanon; it is never driven on the route.
- Before shipping: issue the car export through Absher, then the Fasah declaration, and bring the registration, proof of ownership and the owner’s ID.
- Inside the car: no personal belongings, because customs will refuse a car loaded with luggage.
- Charges in Lebanon: duty and tax are worked out by Lebanese customs from what the car is worth and when it was built, and they sit outside our freight price.
- Transit time: close to that of furniture, between 8 and 12 working days to Beirut.
Transport vehicles more than 5 years old are not accepted either. For the paperwork and temporary entry for a car, read car shipping from Saudi Arabia to Lebanon, our dedicated car guide.
Air freight from Makkah to Beirut via Jeddah airport
Makkah has no international cargo airport of its own, so air consignments are trucked the short distance to Jeddah’s King Abdulaziz International Airport and loaded onto Middle East Airlines flights for Beirut. Time in the air is a little under four hours; from your home in Makkah to the recipient in Lebanon it is 3 to 5 days, depending on bookings and airport formalities. Air freight starts at SAR 32 per kg, and timings depend on the airline’s schedule, which can change.
Flying makes sense for university papers and official documents, permitted prescription medicines, phones and laptops, and urgent spare parts. Furniture, on the other hand, costs far more by air than by road. Volumetric weight and packing are covered in air freight from Saudi Arabia to Lebanon, our air cargo guide.
Can Makkah cargo go by sea from Jeddah to Beirut?
It can. The container terminal at Jeddah Islamic Port has services calling at Beirut and Tripoli, and with loading, the voyage and clearance added together, allow some 15 to 25 days from your warehouse to the consignee. Because Makkah is so close to Jeddah port, its traders can use this option without a long drive to the quay. We recommend it for full containers and commercial goods; for a family’s furniture, a car or a few parcels, the overland route through Jordan and Syria is quicker and ends at the front door.
Delivery across Lebanon: from the Bekaa to Tripoli
We deliver to every Lebanese governorate. Since shipments enter at Masnaa in the Bekaa, the Bekaa is the first distribution stop, after which the truck crosses Dahr al-Baidar down to the capital and the mountain, then heads north or south. Your recipient in Lebanon needs to be reachable by phone on delivery day and to know where a truck can stop closest to the building.

In Tripoli and the older quarters of the coastal cities we switch to a smaller delivery van when the street is too narrow for the truck, carry everything inside, and check it against the list before you sign for delivery.
Documents required for shipping from Makkah to Lebanon
We check the paperwork before loading, because any mismatch between the list and the cartons shows up at inspection in Nassib or Masnaa and delays the load. For commercial shipments, see our customs clearance service page.
What can’t be shipped from Makkah to Lebanon?
- Anything to do with arms: firearms, rounds, swords and daggers, plus drugs of any kind.
- Things that can catch fire on the road: pocket gas lighters, gas bottles, fuel, solvents and paints.
- Second-hand hospital and X-ray equipment, and cordless handsets working on 900 MHz.
- Fake branded goods, goods whose origin label is false, and anything made in Israel.
- A passenger car past eight years of age, or a transport vehicle past five.
- Medicines without a prescription or in commercial quantities, and food that needs approval from the relevant Lebanese ministry.
- Antiquities and heritage items that may not be exported from the Kingdom.
Treat this as the headline list rather than the full one; a quick message to us settles any doubt about a specific item before packing day.

What will your Makkah to Lebanon shipment cost?
Share a few photos, your Makkah district and where in Lebanon they are going, and we reply with a figure plus the date of our next truck bound for Masnaa.
What goes into the price from Makkah to Lebanon?
- Volume: furniture is usually charged by the cubic metre, parcels by the kilo.
- Dedicated or shared truck: shared is cheaper but needs extra days to consolidate.
- Area in Lebanon: the Bekaa and Beirut are closer than Akkar or Tyre.
- Access: stairs and hillside districts in Makkah, high floors in Mount Lebanon.
- Crating: timber boxes built for marble tops, glass and heirlooms.
- Transfer at Nassib and clearance: yard and broker fees at the crossings.
- Insurance: an optional extra, set by what you say your things are worth.
Worked example: say a household in Al-Aziziyah is sending one complete bedroom, one fridge and twenty medium cartons to Zahle. The bedroom starts at SAR 1,840 and the fridge at SAR 550, while the cartons go on a shared load at SAR 11 per kg; at around 300 kg that adds roughly SAR 3,300. The approximate total is about SAR 5,690 before insurance, and the final price is set after we review your photos.
Cheapest ways to send from Makkah to Lebanon
- Without a deadline, go shared: splitting a truck with others costs less than hiring one outright.
- Before shipping, let go of cheap, heavy furniture; buying a replacement in Lebanon is sometimes cheaper than moving it.
- Pack small items in cartons of the same size; they stack better and take up less space.
- Only fly light, urgent items; road is far cheaper per kilo.
- If you are returning for good, get the exemption papers ready before loading to save on duty.
Common mistakes when shipping from Makkah to Lebanon
- Getting the returnee packing list certified after the shipment has left, which loses the exemption or delays clearance.
- Shipping a car older than 8 years in the hope it will be accepted, only for it to be sent back or stuck.
- Packing bags and boxes into the car before it goes on the carrier.
- Believing a promise of a “direct truck to Beirut” without asking how Nassib is handled.
- An inventory that just says “home contents” instead of numbered lines per carton.
- Forgetting to give a working Lebanese phone number for the recipient, so the truck waits at the door.
Payment, insurance and tracking
