Shipping from Tabuk to Lebanon

Tabuk is where the shortest overland route from Saudi Arabia to Lebanon begins, and Gulf International Shipping, operating as a shipping company from Tabuk to Lebanon, loads your furniture, cartons and goods at your home and leaves the Kingdom through Halat Ammar into Mudawwara, then drives north past Ma’an and the Jordanian capital to Jaber; at Nassib customs, with our representative present, the load passes to a truck licensed to cross Syria, which reaches Jdeidet Yabous and enters Lebanon at Masnaa. Beirut is only about 750 km away, and the usual transit is roughly 5–8 working days to the Bekaa and Beirut. Our Tabuk prices are the lowest of any Saudi city: a small carton from SAR 92, a fridge from SAR 550, a complete bedroom from SAR 920 and an eligible car from SAR 4,140.

Do the sum yourself: a truck out of Riyadh, Dammam or Jeddah drives some 1,650–1,850 km to Beirut, while one out of Tabuk covers under half of that. You feel the gap on the invoice and on the calendar alike, since every hundred kilometres saved trims hours of driving and road costs. Tabuk’s position near the frontier has also made it the obvious place to gather what comes in from the surrounding governorates before the truck heads for the border.

What is the road distance from Tabuk to Lebanon?

No crossing links Saudi Arabia directly to Lebanon, so the distance is measured through Jordan and Syria. We have split the route into three legs with approximate distances, so you can see where your shipment spends its time:

LegApprox. distanceWhat happens
Tabuk → Halat Ammar → Mudawwara → Ma’an → Ammanabout 450 kmSaudi exit formalities, then Jordan under transit seal
Amman → Jaber → Nassib → Damascusabout 200 kmThe Jordan–Syria border and the load transfer at Nassib
Damascus → Jdeidet Yabous → Masnaa → Beirutabout 100 kmEntry into Lebanon, clearance at Masnaa, then delivery
Total, Tabuk to Beirutabout 750 kmThe shortest distance from any Saudi city

Distances are approximate along the main roads. Note that the last leg, from Damascus to Beirut, is short but includes two border posts and customs clearance, so it can take longer than the kilometres suggest. The longest waits are usually at Jaber and Nassib on busy days.

Why does shipping from Tabuk arrive sooner and cost less?

Three reasons make Tabuk the best starting point for Lebanon. First, distance: Halat Ammar is only a few hours from the city, so the truck does not spend hundreds of kilometres inside the Kingdom before its international trip even begins. Second, a northbound truck does not need a long wait to gather cargo from distant cities; once it fills up from Tabuk and its governorates, it leaves. Third, pricing: we keep to a rule that a closer city is never priced above a further one for the same item, so we brought many Tabuk prices down to the Madinah level, and some items now cost more than a third less than competitors publish in Tabuk.

Tabuk does not skip Nassib, though. A load from Tabuk moves to a second truck like any other, so we never cut corners on packing just because the road is shorter.

Approximate shipping prices from Tabuk to Lebanon

The last column holds two figures. First comes our starting price at Gulf International Shipping, around 8% under the lowest published market rate, or well below it where we matched the further city; the second is a common ceiling once the volume grows or the Lebanese governorate is further away:

Note: by road, Tabuk shipments normally reach Zahle and Beirut in 5–8 working days, Mount Lebanon a day later and the North and South up to two days later, depending on queues at Jaber, Nassib and Masnaa; by air, routed through Riyadh or Jeddah, allow about 3–5 days.

Halat Ammar from Tabuk to Lebanon
Our truck approaches the canopies of the Halat Ammar crossing, the first stage of the Tabuk to Lebanon road

Nassib is what customers worry about most, so here is exactly what happens. The Saudi truck parks in the customs yard and its doors are opened in front of our representative, who checks the seals and then follows the transfer of items one by one onto the second truck, in the same order they were loaded in Tabuk, matching numbers to the inventory. The new truck is then closed and carries on. To dig deeper, the Nassib crossing page explains the Syrian side and the Masnaa crossing guide explains entry into Lebanon.

Heads-up

Commercial cargo enters Lebanon from Syria at Masnaa specifically, a post that opens every day for extended hours. We review border conditions before every truck departs, book the crossing slot and let you know if any delay comes up.

We collect from Tayma, Duba, Al-Wajh, Umluj and Haql

If you live outside the city there is no need to drive in. Our crew comes to you: east to Tayma, down the Red Sea coast to Duba, Al-Wajh and Umluj, and up to Haql and Al-Bad’ by the Aqaba gulf, packing and loading at your house, then consolidate in Tabuk before heading north. Within the city we reach Al-Muruj, Al-Rayyan, Al-Sulaymaniyah, Al-Faisaliyah, Al-Akhdar, Al-Masif and other districts.

Preparing Lebanon cargo in Tabuk
A worker sticks coloured labels onto cartons stacked inside a truck in a Tabuk house yard

In Tabuk we use a coloured label system: one colour for each room in your new home and a number for each item. When the cartons reach Beirut or Byblos, the crew knows where each one goes without asking you, and the representative at Nassib can tell straight away if a piece of a set is missing. This simple system saves you hours of sorting boxes after arrival.

Packing built for two loadings: how we prepare goods in Tabuk

A short distance does not change the fact that every item is loaded in Tabuk, transferred at Nassib and unloaded in Lebanon. So every shipment follows the same rules:

  • Wood and beds: fully dismantled, panels wrapped in corrugated card, and screw bags tagged with the room colour.
  • Sofas and mattresses: a heavy film cover and then a moving blanket, with cardboard corner guards.
  • Glass, marble and chandeliers: wooden crates braced with foam and marked “fragile” in Arabic and English.
  • Appliances: washer and fridge drained, doors secured with tape that leaves no mark.
  • Stowage: heavy at the bottom, fragile on top, with yellow straps across every row.

Storage for a few days before departure is available, and large households are covered in detail in furniture moving from Saudi Arabia to Lebanon.

Delivery in Byblos, Batroun, Tripoli and the rest of Lebanon

After clearance at Masnaa we deliver in the Bekaa first, then cross the mountains down to Beirut. From Beirut the coast road runs north through Jounieh to Byblos and Batroun, then Chekka, Tripoli and Akkar. In the south we reach Damour, Sidon and Tyre, and inland Nabatieh, Marjayoun and Hasbaya. In old towns with stone lanes, such as old Byblos, we park at the nearest point and finish with hand trolleys to the door.

Two workers push a trolley of cartons down a stone lane in old Byblos to deliver a shipment from Tabuk

When you book, we ask for an active Lebanese number for the recipient and a description of the building, floor and nearest landmark, because Lebanese addresses lean on landmarks more than street names. We call the recipient a day before arrival to fix the hour.

Car shipping from Tabuk to Lebanon

We accept a car for Lebanon if it is 8 years old or newer and left-hand drive, because Lebanon bans imports of older passenger cars and of right-hand-drive vehicles, and sets a 5-year limit for transport vehicles. The car is loaded onto a closed or open carrier in Tabuk and stays on it all the way to Lebanon, crossing Syria as transit cargo, from SAR 4,140.

Is there air freight from Tabuk to Beirut?

Tabuk airport has no Beirut service, so we route air cargo through Riyadh or Jeddah onto Middle East Airlines, subject to its timetable, from SAR 32 per kg and in about 3–5 days. But because the road from Tabuk is short, the time gap between air and road is smaller than from any other city, so we recommend air only for urgent documents, personal medicines and very light items. If you want to compare the numbers, see air freight from Saudi Arabia to Lebanon.

Commercial freight from Tabuk to Lebanon

Tabuk is a farming region with active trade to the north, and we serve traders with part loads from SAR 640 for goods up to 50 kg, or a full truck for one to two tonnes from SAR 3,680. Saudi-made goods get an extra advantage: thanks to the Arab free trade arrangement that links the two countries, a certificate of origin removes Lebanese duty and leaves only 11% VAT.

Farm and food products in commercial quantities need approval from Lebanon’s ministries of agriculture or health, and chilled cargo starts from SAR 920 with special handling at Nassib, so describe the cargo to us when you first get in touch. Service details at international land freight.

Customs exemption for returning Lebanese

Lebanese who have spent three unbroken years or more abroad and are now settling back home can bring in their used furniture duty-free, a benefit that is never repeated. What you need:

  • The contents list endorsed by the Lebanese embassy in Riyadh, with the embassy’s statement of your residence in the Kingdom and your return.
  • The shipment must enter Lebanon no later than three months after you do.
  • Your original passport with the latest entry stamp, a new ikhraj qaid, a lease recorded with the municipality and a statement from the neighbourhood mukhtar.
  • You attend clearance personally and agree not to sell the goods for three years.

Outside the exemption

New, unused items, odd pieces that do not make a household, and cars all pay duty and 11% VAT. Check the rules with Lebanese customs before loading; the long version is on Lebanon used household goods customs rules.

What makes up the cost of shipping from Tabuk to Lebanon?

Price depends on volume or weight, private or shared truck, the level of packing, the Lebanese region, insurance if requested, and clearance. Example: a family in Al-Muruj sends relatives in Byblos a bedroom, a sofa set, a fridge, a washer, an AC unit and a rug. The bedroom from SAR 920, the sofas from 550, the fridge from 550, the washer from 460, the AC from 460 and the rug from 460; the total starts at about SAR 3,400, plus clearance from SAR 276. With more furniture on top, the whole-home rate from SAR 3,680 becomes the better deal.

Tips that save money and time

Ship from Tabuk, not a further city

If you live between Tabuk and Madinah, loading in Tabuk is shorter and cheaper.

Use a shared truck for a few items

You pay only for your pieces and accept a few extra days.

Check the car’s model year

A 9-year-old car will not enter Lebanon whatever its condition.

Do not mix new with used

One new item can cost you the exemption on the whole household.

Book before summer

Demand climbs ahead of the summer break and holidays.

Give a precise address

A working number and a nearby landmark save a delivery day.

Shipping from Lebanon to Tabuk

We also work the same road in reverse, moving family and student belongings and some goods from Lebanon to Tabuk, depending on the shipment and Saudi import requirements. Share a contents list and rough weight, and we will tell you if it can travel.
