Shipping prices from Saudi Arabia to Bahrain at Gulf International Shipping start at SAR 9.2 per kilo, SAR 46 for a small parcel or documents, SAR 138 for a carton up to 20 kg, SAR 735 for a bedroom on a shared truck, SAR 2,300 for a full apartment and SAR 780 for a sedan on a shared carrier. All of it moves by truck across the King Fahd Causeway; Eastern Province loads are fastest, usually landing on the day, Riyadh takes a day or two, and the Hijaz cities and Madinah 3–5 working days.
This page is where we keep all our Bahrain rates from five loading regions in one place: Riyadh; Dammam and the Eastern Province; Jeddah together with Makkah, Madinah and Taif; and Tabuk. The method never changes. We take the lowest price carriers publish in each city for each item and set ours about 8% below it. If no carrier publishes a price for an item in a given city, we use the nearest city that does instead of guessing. That is why some figures differ between cities for the same item, and we explain why below.

Approximate shipping prices from Saudi Arabia to Bahrain
This table follows the way most people search: shipment type, transport and a from–to cost. We start at the lower number for the lightest load in each class; the higher number is what the market usually charges when the load is bulkier or heavier. Your exact price falls between the two, depending on size, loading city and the area in Bahrain.
Note: road transit runs from the same day (Eastern Province) through one or two days (Riyadh) and 3–5 working days (Jeddah, Makkah, Taif, Madinah) to roughly 4–6 days (Tabuk); by air it is 24–48 hours, subject to flights and clearance.
What does shipping to Bahrain cost from your city?
The table below sets the most requested items side by side for each loading region. Makkah, Madinah and Taif take Jeddah’s prices because Jeddah is the nearest city with published Bahrain rates; we found no carrier publishing prices from those three cities directly.
Every loading city also has a full guide of its own: shipping from Riyadh to Bahrain, land freight from Dammam to Bahrain, shipping from Jeddah to Bahrain, shipping from Makkah to Bahrain, shipping from Madinah to Bahrain, shipping from Taif to Bahrain and shipping from Tabuk to Bahrain.
Why do prices differ from one city to another?
Distance comes first. Every road route to Bahrain ends at the King Fahd Causeway, so a load from Jeddah covers about 1,350–1,400 km, one from Riyadh about 450–500 km and one from Dammam only about 70–90 km. That gives us a rule we never break: when we borrow another city’s rates, a city closer to Bahrain is never priced above a farther one for the same item, so nothing from Dammam costs more than from Riyadh.
The local market comes second. Our rates follow the lowest figure published in each city, and some Jeddah carriers publish low rates for items such as large cartons because they consolidate plenty of eastbound cargo. So our Jeddah price for that item comes in slightly below Riyadh’s even though Jeddah is farther. We do not raise a price just to make the table look tidy; we show you the real lowest rate in each city.
Tabuk is a special case. The only carrier publishing Tabuk-to-Bahrain rates lists figures well above every other city, especially for cars, and we build on published prices rather than estimates. That puts a small car shipped straight from Tabuk at SAR 7,360. Most Tabuk owners do better by dropping the car at our Riyadh or Jeddah yard and paying that rate, or by messaging us on WhatsApp so we can look for an empty slot on a passing carrier.
Shared truck or full truck: which works out cheaper?

This choice moves the price more than anything else. On a shared truck your items travel with other customers’ Bahrain-bound loads, and the bill reflects only the space you use. It works well for cartons, one room or a few pallets. The downside is the wait for the truck to fill, so a Riyadh load usually takes 2–4 days instead of 24–48 hours, and drops in Bahrain follow a route that serves every customer on board.
A dedicated truck carries nothing but your load, leaves when you are packed and heads directly for your address, with no stop at a transit warehouse. Sizes vary. A 6 m dyna usually takes a three-bedroom apartment with a living room and starts from Riyadh at SAR 2,300; a 13.6 m closed trailer takes a 3–4 bedroom home or villa and starts at SAR 3,220; a full commercial truckload (FTL) starts at SAR 2,300.
Furniture moving prices to Bahrain, by piece and by room
Many people moving to Bahrain do not take the whole house, only chosen pieces: a new bed, an expensive wardrobe, a fridge. So we publish single-piece prices too. They are based on Jeddah, the only city where carriers publish per-piece Bahrain rates, followed by room and home prices from Riyadh:
A piece price covers suitable wrapping, loading and delivery to the door; removing an air conditioner and recovering its gas, or fitting a kitchen in Bahrain, are extras on request. For the rules that make used furniture duty-free, read furniture moving from Saudi Arabia to Bahrain.
How much is a carton or a kilo to Bahrain?

Parcels and cartons are priced on weight and volume together, whichever is greater. A light but bulky carton, such as one full of pillows or toys, may be charged by its size rather than its weight. These are the starting prices for the common sizes:
For carton packing and what may go inside, see cartons and parcels shipping to Bahrain.
Car shipping prices to Bahrain
Cars go by road only, and the price depends more on the type of carrier than on the size of the car. A sedan starts at SAR 780 on a shared carrier from Riyadh or the Eastern Province and SAR 1,100 on a private hydraulic flatbed; a small car from Jeddah at SAR 920; an SUV at SAR 1,190; an electric car at SAR 1,380; a van at SAR 1,650; while a luxury car travelling enclosed starts at SAR 1,840. Remember that the 5% duty and 10% VAT on a car being exported for good are paid in Bahrain and depend on the car’s value, not on the freight. The complete car guide is car shipping from Saudi Arabia to Bahrain.
Commercial freight prices to Bahrain
A GCC certificate of origin removes customs duty from goods made in the Kingdom, which makes a big difference to the landed cost of local versus imported products. B2B shippers can read on in goods shipping from Saudi Arabia to Bahrain.
What does air freight to Bahrain cost per kilo?
Our air rate begins at SAR 13.8 per kg, taken from the only published air price to Bahrain, which is from Riyadh. Cargo can go on any scheduled flight into Bahrain International Airport; flying time is a little over an hour from Riyadh and a little over two hours from Jeddah, and Madinah and Taif are served on their own schedules. Allow 24–48 hours from collection to delivery, depending on the flight and clearance.
Is air worth paying for? It is for papers, samples, licensed medicines and small urgent parts leaving the far western cities. From the Eastern Province there is no regular flight at all, and a truck crosses the bridge in hours, so air makes no sense there. Airports and schedules are covered in air freight from Saudi Arabia to Bahrain.
Costs that are not in the freight price: VAT, duty and the causeway
Bahraini VAT at 10% applies to taxable imports and is calculated once freight and duty are already in the value. Customs duty at 5% is charged on new furniture, appliances and goods manufactured outside the GCC. Say a new appliance from outside the region is worth SAR 1,000 with freight: SAR 50 of duty plus SAR 105 of VAT means SAR 155 payable at Bahraini customs, on top of what you pay us. A new resident’s used household goods can come in free if the conditions are met, above all that they land within six months of the owner moving there and that a residence permit and CPR card are produced. Details in Bahrain used household goods customs.
Bridge tolls vary with the type and weight of the vehicle; we fold them into our rates, so you never see them as a separate line. What the causeway does add is a penalty for overloaded trucks: an overloaded axle costs SAR 300, and each tonne over the limit, even a partial one, costs another SAR 300. We size the truck to your cargo so that never happens, which is why we ask roughly how heavy dense cargo is before quoting. The crossing rules are explained in the King Fahd Causeway truck shipping guide.
Worked examples: how we price a shipment to Bahrain
A Riyadh family moving a three-bedroom apartment with a living room to Isa Town: we send a dedicated 6 m dyna, starting at SAR 2,300, plus IKEA kitchen fitting from SAR 825 if needed. For an all-in package with packing, customs and assembly on a one-bedroom flat, the price starts at SAR 1,650.
A student in Jeddah sending four cartons of books and clothes, about 15 kg each, to a brother in Manama: each carton starts at SAR 138 on a shared truck, about SAR 552 for all four, arriving in 3–5 working days.
A trader in Dammam sending 300 kg of foodstuffs to a warehouse in Sitra: commercial goods of 50–500 kg from the Eastern Province start at SAR 1,100, arrive the same day or next morning, and pay no customs duty if they are Saudi-made with a certificate of origin.
What does the shipping price to Bahrain include?
Ways to pay less for shipping to Bahrain
- A shared truck is the thrifty choice for anyone who can wait two or three days.
- Ship from the nearest city on the way: from Tabuk, for example, handing the car over in Riyadh can be far cheaper.
- Sell heavy old furniture instead of moving it, and ship only what is hard to replace.
- Get a certificate of origin for Saudi goods to avoid customs duty.
- Ship used furniture within six months of taking up residence so it stays duty-free.
- Skip air from the Eastern Province; road is faster and cheaper.
Common mistakes when comparing shipping prices to Bahrain
- Comparing prices without the details: one company’s “bedroom” price is freight only, another’s includes dismantling and reassembly.
- Ignoring VAT and duty: new non-GCC furniture adds roughly 15.5% of its value in Bahrain.
- Believing “delivered within hours” from distant cities: Jeddah is about 1,350–1,400 km from Manama.
- Understating the weight of heavy cargo: overweight fees are charged at the causeway.
- Saving a few hundred riyals by sending a prestige car on an open deck.
