This page brings together every starting rate we use on the Kuwait route, from each Saudi city and for each kind of shipment, in tables you can compare side by side. We set each figure after reviewing what other carriers publish in the same city, then priced ours 5–10% lower. Where no published price exists for an item, you will see “ask for your quote” rather than an invented number.

Approximate shipping costs from Saudi Arabia to Kuwait
This table answers the questions we hear most. Each cell opens with the Gulf International Shipping starting rate for the smallest load of its kind and closes with the normal upper figure for a bigger or trickier one. Where you land in between depends on the actual volume, the pickup city and the Kuwaiti area.
Note: trucks need about 1–2 days from Dammam and the Eastern Province, 2–3 days from the capital, 3–5 working days from the Hijaz cities and around 4–6 days from Tabuk; air cargo lands within 24–72 hours, subject to space on flights.
Shipping prices to Kuwait by departure city
Each Saudi city has its own market and its own published prices, so we built a rate set for each region rather than one figure for the whole Kingdom. These are the starting rates for the most requested items:
You may notice that some items start lower from Jeddah than from Riyadh, even though Jeddah is further away. That is because each rate comes from the prices published in that city’s own market, and the basis of pricing differs between markets; the Riyadh bedroom rate, for instance, assumes a dedicated dyna with dismantling and wrapping. Where a city publishes no price for an item, we used the nearest city that does, so the Riyadh parcel and cubic-metre rates follow the Eastern Province. Do not rely on the table alone: send your list and we will price it for the method you prefer. What is the price per kilo from Saudi Arabia to Kuwait?
By road, the price per kilo starts from SAR 2.75 for commercial goods in volume from Riyadh and the Eastern Province. From Jeddah and the western cities it starts from SAR 4.1 per kg for loads of 100–500 kg and drops to SAR 3.2 per kg above 500 kg. Per-kilo pricing suits dense cargo such as food, spare parts and packaged goods. Light, bulky things like cushions, toys and flat-packed furniture are usually charged by the cubic metre, because their size is what fills the truck; a cubic metre starts from SAR 230 from Dammam and SAR 505 from Jeddah.
Is your load charged by weight or by volume?
Multiply length by width by height in metres to get the volume. If your load is heavy and compact (cartons of books or bottled goods), weight is the basis; if it is light and bulky (sofas or mattresses), volume is. We work out both and use whichever suits the cargo.
Carton and parcel prices to Kuwait
Small shipments are what we send to Kuwait most: clothes and student essentials, gifts for relatives, online-store orders and documents. Starting rates:
Personal parcels have an advantage in Kuwait: customs instructions usually exempt personal parcels worth no more than KWD 100 from duty. Goods sent for resale are treated as a commercial shipment. Details in cartons and parcels shipping to Kuwait.

Furniture moving prices from Saudi Arabia to Kuwait
Furniture is priced by the room, by the piece or by the whole home. The rate usually covers dismantling, wrapping, loading and transport; reassembly in Kuwait is agreed with you when you book. Gulf International Shipping starting rates:
Used furniture may come in duty-free for two groups under Article 103 of the unified customs law of the GCC states: Kuwaiti citizens coming back from residence abroad, and expatriates arriving to live in Kuwait for the first time. Kuwait Customs sets the detailed conditions, and we go through them with you before anything is loaded. New furniture generally pays 5% unless it was made in the GCC. Car shipping prices to Kuwait
A car’s shipping price swings with the city and the carrier more than any other cargo. Out of Riyadh and the Eastern Province the ladder runs: SAR 1,100 for a sedan sharing a carrier, SAR 1,660 for a car on a hydraulic flatbed, SAR 1,840 for an SUV on the same kind of flatbed, SAR 2,300 for a private flatbed, SAR 3,220 for enclosed transport of a luxury car, and SAR 4,140 for the VIP enclosed carrier with hydraulic deck. From Jeddah, Makkah, Madinah, Taif and Tabuk, a sedan starts from SAR 2,300 and an SUV from SAR 3,500, since the road is roughly twice as long.
These figures leave out Kuwaiti duty on the car, 5% of its value with nothing added for VAT, and Kuwait admits only cars up to 10 years past manufacture. The acceptance rules and papers are in car shipping from Saudi Arabia to Kuwait.
Prices for goods and full truckloads
Traders and manufacturers have two ways to pay: shared trucking by pallet, kilo or cubic metre, or a dedicated truck or container. Shared trucking is cheaper if you fill less than half a truck; a dedicated truck is faster and has a firmer schedule if you fill one or need delivery on a set day.

Goods produced in Saudi Arabia normally clear duty-free when a GCC origin certificate accompanies them; imports from beyond the Gulf usually pay 5%, and Saudi duty already settled on them may be offset through GCC clearing. Note that used medical equipment is banned from Kuwait, so the rate above is for new devices only. Details in goods shipping from Saudi Arabia to Kuwait.
What air freight to Kuwait costs
We do not publish a fixed air rate per kilo, because the price moves with actual or volumetric weight (whichever is higher), the departure airport and the space available on the flight. Kuwait airport is served on its current flight timetables, and we lock in the flight, space and price when you book. The flight is about 1 hour 20 minutes from Riyadh, about an hour from Dammam and about two hours from Jeddah, with flights from Madinah and Taif as well. Expect delivery to the door within 24–72 hours, depending on which flights have room.
When is air worth the premium? For documents, samples, licensed medicines and urgent spare parts. For furniture, cars and many cartons, road is far better value, especially since Eastern Province cargo reaches Kuwait by truck in a day or two. An urgent load from a distant city can fly as far as Dammam and finish by truck via Khafji. What does the shipping price to Kuwait include?
We spell these out in the quote ahead of loading, so the border and the doorstep hold no unexpected bills.
Taxes and customs duty in Kuwait
- VAT: Kuwait has not introduced it, so do not accept anyone adding 5% VAT to your shipment there.
- Customs duty: typically 5%, charged on goods whose origin is outside the GCC.
- Saudi products: cross duty-free with a GCC certificate of origin.
- Used furniture: exempt for returning Kuwaitis and first-time residents, subject to Kuwait Customs conditions.
- Cash and gold: anything above KWD 3,000 must be declared.
Working out what your Kuwait shipment will cost
Price drivers: where it is collected, how much space or weight it takes, whether the truck is shared or yours alone, how much packing is needed, stairs and lifts at each end, the destination area and the time of year. Here are three rough examples at starting rates:
A student sends 5 cartons from Jeddah
5 × SAR 110 = from SAR 550, arriving in 3–5 working days.
A family moves an apartment and a car from Riyadh
Three-room apartment from SAR 3,230 + sedan from SAR 1,100 = from SAR 4,330.
A shop sends 4 pallets from Dammam
4 × SAR 550 = from SAR 2,200, arriving in one to two days.
These are simplified sums to help you plan. The final price comes in writing once you send the list or photos, and it can be lower if we combine your load with others heading to the same area.
Ways to pay less for shipping to Kuwait
- Choose shared trucking when you fill less than half a truck.
- Book the shared car carrier early, since its lower rate depends on filling it.
- Cut the volume: sell cheap old furniture and flat-pack what you can.
- If you are in the west and heading to southern Kuwait, ask about consolidating in Dammam and crossing at Khafji.
- Avoid holiday weeks, when demand rises and border waits grow.
- Have your papers ready before loading so nobody pays for a day of waiting.
Common mistakes when comparing shipping prices
- “50% off” adverts: ask for the final price after the discount and what it covers.
- A price without clearance: some offers look cheaper until clearance is added at the border.
- Comparing per kilo with per cubic metre: a light, bulky load may be charged by volume, which changes the cost.
- Wrong tax information: anyone adding Kuwaiti VAT is giving you an incorrect figure.
- Wrong crossing: anyone naming “Abdali” for Saudi cargo is mixing it up with the Iraq crossing; the right crossings are Khafji and Ruqai.
